Usually when you read a passage you also need to read around that passage for more context. In this case you don’t even have to leave chapter 10 to put more context. Just one verse above adds to the same passage in a different light. Matthew 32-34 “If anyone acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will openly acknowledge that person before my Father in heaven. But if anyone denies me here on earth, I will deny that person before my Father in heaven”.
Too many people try to take quotes out of context. Use the Bible to interpret itself.

Chomsky he’s not a Christian and has no desire to be his opinion on what the Bible said is purposely perverted to achieve what he wants.
