"The issue" is much deeper than baptism for salvation but his mind is built on that foundation. You have to leave him be on it.
The door is still open for you to change your mind on the scripture

I love the Bible. I always have. I bought my first Bible in 3rd grade and it has been part of my spiritual instruction since, even before as it was read to me.

I don’t believe it is without error though as is any aspect of religion it is imperfect and has its limitations.

Only God is perfect.

Your lack of character is showing.
Acts 2 teaches on the day of Pentecost, that 3000 people became Christians after being immersed in water for the forgiveness of their sins and not at the point when they believed. Do you affirm or deny this statement?
Affirm or deny?

If you believe it's imperfect then you can't trust anything written in it.

Samaria was specifically mentioned by the Lord for his disciples to bear testimony of him there (Acts 1:8). The people here have a heathen background. "Philip the evangelist" (Acts 8:5; 21:8), "full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them" (Acts 8:5). His preaching held them "spellbound." He continued to preach Christ to a People deceived by sorcery and witchcraft (Acts 8:9-11), and his preaching accomplished confidence. "But when the believed Philip preaching " (Acts 8:12). Their baptism into Christ evidences their "turn" or repentance. ( Luke 24:47.) Luke says they were baptized, both men and women (Acts 8:12).
"He that believes and is baptized shall be saved." -Jesus

@FromOffTheStreets ..Why do you refuse to answer?
I've spent many hours over the years answering your questions. There is nothing left to say.
I have learned some things from checking into your arguments, but have almost always came away with a different view than COC. & that is ok.
I can live with some differing theological ideas as long as they are purely biblical. Can you?
I would encourage you to find grace for fellow believers. We all are only human with finite minds & understanding.

You've answered nothing. There's plenty left to say. Affirm or deny is not much to say at all.
The reason you won't answer is the same reason the Pharisees wouldn't answer Jesus. They seen the truth of what he spoke, just as any honest person could see the truth of what was written. Not enough spine to admit that in just one passage, it destroys your faith only false doctrine.
