At one time they didn't want us going over 45 hours a week. Back then the lowest paid sup had to make more than the highest paid driver.

Deplorable.
When I was a split driver we'd get all 6 routes from a 46 square mile township to meet at a central location for lunch.
We'd have lunch together, even out the work, take a few stops off a guy who wanted to be at his kids game that night, swap misloads, etc.
Those were the good days. Seems like forever and a day ago now.
