Try looking at it from their point of view. They could've disbanded their reservations back in the 1800's and lived as well as blacks and Chinese and others were living as "separate but equal" citizens. Or they could've kept their reservations and had more control over their lives. Which would you have chosen?

Yah, because we know the Indians who gave away Manhattan Island represented all Indians everywhere. What about every negotiated treaty that was ultimately broken by the whites? Did the Indians deserve that too?I find Indian lore, interesting and they seem very brave and resourceful. But any group of people who are fooled into giving away everything with a couple of strands of necklaces and shiny objects. Kind of get what they deserve.

Most reservations are not very good. Lots of drunks and drug addicts, high unemployment.
That used to be the case and is still the case with some. But there's been a lot of improvement since the advent of Indian casinos. Who knew the answer was catering to white men's vices?

Having a meltdown again? I'm more than a quarter Cherokee, have not only read a lot on Native American history but have visited about a dozen reservations including have delivered to a few regular as a courier.

No, you’re just annoying. you live in your dads house because of every poor choice you’ve made and you come on here and act like you have the answer to something maybe just shut your mouth sometimes and have some humility. Fair enough. For over 100 years blacks were treated like second class citizens. Many thousands of lynchings. Separate but equal. I would've taken the reservation instead of that.

I always liked Dave Ramsey advice. If you wanna learn how to be a broke, person, hang out with broke people.
The philosophy, transfers, over to most everything in life.
Most don't live in extreme poverty and alcoholism on some reservations. Some do on some reservations. Broad, sweeping generalizations based on stereotypes is what people do who don't know what they're talking about.

The difference between you and me is I don't mind sharing my mistakes. You would never do that but would represent yourself as superior to someone like me. What it comes down to is money. Education only means something to you if it resulted in having more money. And if you have more then you're a winner, at least compared to me. That's a wonderful philosophy.
