Ha ha---that is so true. I just got back from visiting a new barber shop in town. Its a sports themed shop that has a big tv at every hair cutting station to watch. They cut (they call it style your hair) , wrap your face with a warm towel, give you a neck & back massage, wash your hair and spray you down with foo foo juice all of which is part of their VIP package. They have a deal going on now where your first "VIP package experience" is FREE. Guess who filled the waiting area? Yep--us old duffers looking for a free haircut. I felt sorry for the young "hair stylists". They weren't exactly raking it in with tips. (I do tip good (20%) --my wife says too good).

You don't "gotta" tip anything but for a haircut I usually give 5 bucks for a 10-12 dollar cut. Now I ask the question--why a 5 buck tip for a 10 dollar haircut but if you had 3 or 4 beers and your bill was 10 bucks you only leave a couple of bucks? Why tip so much for a hair cut?

Haircuts are $18 at Supercuts ! I consider them the "Walmart of Haircutters".
I leave a couple dollars....like no change from my twenty.

There's no way I can find a haircut for $10....maybe in the 70's

Driving out of my community this morning I encountered what I encounter all the time.......a couple walking in my lane!!

We have great sidwalks. They are doing right in walking and keeping healthy, but how healthy will they look splayed all over the street?
I wanted to lay on the horn sooooo bad........heart attack-style, but I just went left of center (broke law)to go around the lovebirds.
Mind you now, they say in our monthly newsletter to "watch out for pedestrians". Why, I don't drive on the sidewalks?

Me too. Not just for the cost savings as much as convenience. I hate going to a barber and waiting for an hour to get a haircut.

Evidently you have never driven through the ghetto. Kids there never use the sidewalks and will walk side by side in the middle of the street just daring someone to hit them.

My dad left me something. His bald head. I don't have a lot on top, just around the sides. I've always felt gypped paying full price for a haircut. I would be better off paying per hair. There is a lady who owns a salon near my house that charges $7.99 for a haircut. When I get my "summer cut", I get a 1 all over. zipadeedoodah, I'm out of there in 3-4 minutes if there is no wait. Works for me. I tip her as well.

I get a#4 up the back from the neck......and blended with the hair at the upper part. That's pretty short for a girls cut. I saved all kind of $$$ when 2 , one year rounds of chemo left me bald ......I could get ready in the mornings real fast.......but chilly all the time. Pastel ballcaps were a fashion statement....and a necessity.
