I have never considered coming in to work a job as an option. Sure people get sick and emergencies happen, and when they do my boss tells me to take care of what you have to do. Because I have built a track record over a long time.

You get paid minimum wage, show them minimum wage attendance. Just call in an hour before the shift. Get that certification!

Integrity, reliability, work ethic. It's all about the individual person's morales. No one else should be able to influence his/her decision.

Of course one should come to work everyday, it's a job but the way everyone trashed this post is ridiculous... you're moving a box for 4 hours and treated like a machine.

You want that day off? take it just don't make it a bad habit.
