All the Obama supporters are as you describe? Tell that to the single Mom with a baby who has been beaten by her red neck Republican NRA husband who doesn't pay a dime toward his own kid's livelyhood. Would you refuse her a ride?
The man your referring to probably doesn't have a bed, more like a cardboard box under a bridge of the interstate. Nice assertion of your view towards Obama supporters.
Diesel, diesel.

Not in many cases, The guys and gals I work with are not like this, not the obama supporters. Im not sure what is wrong with them. But I dont judge them badly, I dont judge them at all. They are good hard working bunch.

And very few of the Obama supporters are as you describe, without a bed, beaten up by gunowner husbands. That is just silly, and yes I would help them in any way I could, and not begrudge them public assistance, as they are the truly needy.

I have tried to no avail, to make it known I am not against poor people and true victims of societal conditions. I dont know why you like to spin it so. I am and always will hate having my tax-dollars going to people who have depended on it for generations. And to the same people who are being told to vote a ticket when they have not a clue what the candidate represents, or how important an election is.

Tooner they spin it so because despite the liberals claims to being the party of love and compassion the libs are in fact the most violently hateful party out there. Look at the rampant attack on Palin someone they would have idolized if only she had been a democrat. Instead they will drag her name through the streets and do everything they can to destroy her. Instead they will even try to discredit the record of a war hero all for party gain. All this they will do while speaking of mysterious neo-con conspiracies.

Please tell me you know this is false. You do know by now this is false right? The tax burden has shifted farther to the rich with the Bush era tax cuts. I know you understand this so why do you keep trying to tell me otherwise? You know by now that I would never vote for your champion B. Hussein. I cannot for the life of me understand why you keep trying to tell me that a tax increase is in fact a tax cut and this nonsense that the rich are somehow paying a smaller share of the tax burden with the Bush era tax cuts that benifited mainly the middle class. I could do like you and just start saying things like you must hate the middle class but I am growing tired of that. Here check this out.

Post all the links you want, it all depends on what you consider “income”.
The nature of many of the taxes the rich pay are hidden whereas income and payroll taxes, which constitute the vast majority of what the poor and middle class pay, are in plain sight for everybody to see.
Obvisously, if you take in the majority of wealth in this country you will pay out the majority of taxes.

Take for example Billionaire Warren Buffet who's 06' tax rate % came to about 17.7% while his seceratary's came to about 30%.
Now Buffett went a step further, putting his money where his mouth is. He issued a challenge to his fellow billionaires:
I’ll bet a million dollars against any member of the Forbes 400 who challenges me that the average (federal tax rate including income and payroll taxes) for the Forbes 400 will be less than the average of their receptionists.
So far, no-one has taken him up on this bet.

Ok, so lets take it one step further, say the reason for Buffet’s low rate is his disproportionately high investment income… The real question behind it all is, “is this really fair?” Should people pay more in taxes on income earned through work than others pay on income gained through investing?
I strenuously argue that it’s completely UNFAIR, and real work should be valued and rewarded.
I’m pretty sure lower capital gains tax rates do almost nothing to generate economic activity in this country (aside from making people flip their investments more often, benefitting investment brokers).
On the other hand, the work done by a school teacher or firefighter contributes real benefits to our country, both economically and socially. We should not necessarily reward investors for simply having enough money to invest.
Plain and simple, capital gains & dividends must be taxed at the same rate as income earned through work.

I think we should get back to the gaffs of Sarah Palin, after all this thread is dedicated to her, I know those of you who cherish her like to use deflection to remove her from the spotlight. BTW...Is she ever going to have a full fledge press conference? Team McCain has no plans so far. I wonder why.

Better to have Oprah tell the country who she supports than have a pill popping erectile deficient republican conservative mouthpiece of a magget in Rush Lindbaugh tell your party who to vote for.

Tie-ty......response to calling mikestrek, Mikey.....

I didn't realize you were that petty?

anyway
SNL parodies both sides (go check it out for yourself), just so happens republicans have just been feeding SNL with better material lately. Remember the Clinton days ?.......don't forget, its a business, and there out to make money and ratings.......

good line I wish it were believable. fact is the media including SNL is also into using their media to get the guy they like elected.

Lets us know when your done flying around Wall Street after your Union day job in you cape, mask and tighty whities with a big S on your chest as the superhero protecter of the super wealthy. Lets call it for what it is, a benefit reverting back to the pre-Bush II era.

pre-bush II would be the clinton era?

Regarding President Bush's 2001 tax cut package, which overwhelmingly benefits the rich and contributed to the transformation of the budget surplus into a deficit. I cannot with my so called "warped logic" support a tax cut in which so many of the benefits go to the most fortunate among us at the expense of middle-class Americans who need tax relief. Why of all people, you, a middle class unionworker, support a faction

Its clear you know very little about the Bush tax cuts other then what OPRAH told you . You should actually read up on it and educate yourself on how much more you will pay if Obama gets elected and reverses it.

Well, the Bush tax cuts are not the reason that the top 1% are shouldering a larger percentage of the tax burden. It has more to do with the fact that they are taking in a larger percentage of the nation's income than at any time since the CBO started tracking it, so they would be paying a larger percentage of the taxes even without the Bush tax cuts.

And the problem with your party is you vote for whomeever Oprah tells you to vote for. Thus you have someone who sat on his rear in congress doing nothing now running for president.

I don't consider myself republican or democrat, I consider myself simply conservative. I vote for the most conservative candidate and that's as partial to a party as I'm comfortable getting. Now I just don't see how republicans can back these candidates who want to impose more laws, regulations, and general BS. You know like Bush and McCain. It seems like they're voting for the person the republican party backs, not who supports their political views. Because god knows that Bush hasn't done a thing to reduce government, and just about every word McCain has said since throwing his hat into the ring in 2000 has been completely counter conservative.

Anywho, it just seems to me that if democrats vote for whoever oprah backs or whatever afternoon talk show host is most heart warming, republicans vote for whoever bill o'riely or whoever the current hard boiled republican media figure is these days. The whole thing has me baffled and honestly every time I see one party fling dook at another (it happens equally between both sides, lets face it) it just makes me want to give up learning, thinking and anything else that makes me human, because everyone else seemed to have done the same back in their teens.

But he clearly stated that due to the Bush tax cuts the middle class and the poor were paying a greater share of the tax burden. The fact is the opposite is true. It is good to see you finally agree that when you Government gets out of your way success comes easier.

Now the McCain ticket has Sarah on the Road spouting the same Debunked claims she he has been saying for months! Does'nt McCain realize hes trailing by 8 points now after the debate and this signals that Sarah Palins performance has hurt his ability to win the Presidency?

Of course, Sarah baracuda is so fierce in a debate that the McCain campaign wont let her face any of the SUNDAY show media types or go on tv to do anymore interviews during the last 4 weeks.

They want her to spout garbage and not be held accountable.

They know that if she gets in front of a tv camera, she'd be dead meat on these issues.

Today, the economy is in a freefall. The direction of the country is in real trouble. The potential for job losses are estimated in the 1.5 to 2.0 million by summer next year.

And Sarah Palin wants to talk about Bill Ayers?

It does'nt matter. McCains train has left the tracks.

I don't know. I'm an Independent and from what I see both Demz and Repbubz both bash each other. What a waist of all of our time.

WOW! Based on a different thread - what a lie this is. This is what trolls do....
They are too cowardly to admit the facts - take a seemingly neutral position and then once they have your confidence they use your words against you.

There is nothing more despicable to me than that type of tactic.

I have a long time friend who did the same thing. He told me he was independent in his emails and asked my opinion on a different topics and then started to bring up all the mudslinging on Palin and McCain.

I read through it, called him on it and he insisted he hadn't made his mind up!

I won't lose respect for someone who has an opinion opposite of mine but I will lose respect for someone who hides or lies or uses a personal attack to deflect the truth.

teity? Typo or some kind of bizarre slur?

SNL has always been extremely biased against republicans . You must really live in some kind of Vaccuum if you think they are balanced.

I have said this before - D is so far to the left that everything is far to the right.

My point - When he sees the leftist media - He sees middle of the road. He sees himself as the midpoint. The only area further left of him is communism, terrorism, Hitler etc. Soooo everything on the right is ultra right.

Here is a chart of where I think you fit as well as me and the politicians.

1-Communism 2-Obama 3-D 4-Biden 5-Middle 6-Lifer 7-McCain 8-Palin 9-Religious Right
LEFT
1- Communism
Socialism
2 & 3 Obama/Diesel - Keith Oberman - Most of Hollywierd
"The View" MSNBC - Only because they will continue to lose viewership if they are any more biased!
NBC CBS ABC

4 - Biden
CNN
5 - MIDDLE
6 - LIFER - Fox Cable News

7 - McCain

8 - Palin

9 - Religious Right

This is JMHO based on how I perceive the dialog as well as other info I have heard.
Where do you think you stand on the scale above?

Alas....a true traditional conservative. I may not agree with all the time, but more need to come out of the closet and re-hab those of your kind that allow themselves to align with Neo-cons and Evangelicals. I hate using labels but its so rampet these days, one can't help it to describe themselves.

Mike you have to admit that being a deisel groupie really does not add anything to the site.

What would motivate you to :blahblah::blahblah::blahblah: on this site then? Do you find it stimulating to blog with people who all agree and reassure each other on falsehoods and failures, like AM tralk radio......lol

I laugh when you mention the fact that I blindly support this or that. You really don't know what I support. I can tell you one thing for sure.... I don't support any of your political philosophy. That you can count on!

I dislike O'bummer so much that as far as I am concerned McCain & Palin should take the gloves off and do what they think they need to do to win! If Biden was on the top of the ticket or just about anyone else who is not left of left, you would see a whole different type of posting from me..

Nobama brings out the worst emotions in me. He does not deserve to be on top of the Democratic ticket PERIOD

What are "they" afraid of?
