ISIS is not defeated, my friend. The biggest lie being told by the administration is that ISIS is defeated,” Senator Lindsey Graham told “Fox and Friends
I would tell Senator Graham to look at footage and Intel showing how capable the Iraqi Special Operations Forces (ISOF) were in The Battle of Mosul 2017. Eradicating Daesh Fighters. Let them fight for country without us.

Nah. I just long for the simpler times when our involvement was limited to a few special operators sitting in northern Syria.

Now we’re sending in the tanks, too. To guard oil fields. I don’t like when events make @rickyb look right about us.

i dont know where it stops . we're chasing ISIS all over the world if we continue our past practice of taking the war to them.

Trump acted because of his phone call with Erdogan. Not because he’s a master dealmaker or a strategist with top secret info playing 4D chess.

thats the popular spin to discredit Trump decision making. The fact is Erdogan has been telling Trump for at least a year that he was going in.

we are not privy to all the dialogue that has taken place in that time between the countries but it sounds like the kurds were not willing to back off the turkish border. it appears that skirmish with the turks changed their minds.

its like the kid who has the toughest kid on the block as his friend, maybe he gets cocky and thinks he can start crap and talk a lot of nonsense others because of who his friend is. I think we had to show the kurds that we were serious about leaving the area to convince them to back out and create the buffer between the two historical enemies.

Regional conflict history says that the Turks were not going to allow an armed kurdish army to sit on their border in that area.

you now have the turks , the syrians , multiple kurd forces, multiple other syrian forces and the russians all staring at each other over their gun sights and we are thankfully no where in the middle.

I love our troops i think they are the best in the world but it is arrogant at the least to think our troops sitting in the middle of that shooting gallery would somehow prevent a skirmish and or to even think they theirselves were not at risk.

our history the last couple of decades tells us that anytime we have troops in the middle of anything over there they eventually become the target .

when i look at all the criticism of our pulling out i go back to the original point . did anyone really think we should stay in the middle of that shooting gallery?

did anyone really think we should fight the turks forever to protect the kurds. you know the turks and the kurds will fight regardless they've been doing if for a long time regardless of who was there

We pulled our troops back, we got the two sides to agree to an arrangement that keeps some peace and we are willing to use our economic might to protect the kurds while not risking american lives in the process.

best of all the turks and russians will now be the ones dealing with local insurgency and bogged down in that area.

thats a win anyway you shake it.

Wait....I thought Trump said ISIS was defeated. And now they might blow up the oil fields of our Syrian friends?!

trumps not worried about defending the old fields from an attack , he's keeping the oil fields out of the hands of an ISIS rebuild. ISIS used those fields in the past to finance their growth.

It truly is the twilight zone when Democrats argue for continued fighting and involvement.

Looking at a map suggests that with Russian influence in Syria, Iran to the east and an uninvolved US, ISOF may be a bit out of their league.

A lot of history in that part of the world. These people's paradigms are "other worldly". Get the :censored2: out or take it over. But we can't do that because we don't have a vision for conquest nor the stomach for it.

Trump isn’t worried about defending oil fields, he is just defending oil fields.

it appears to be an after thought for him. My guess is his military advisors talked him into cutting off the ISIS finances permanently . He probably agreed to it later after a lot of back and forth internally.

Yes not defending oil fields by defending oil fields. Brilliant.
