Please do not get me started with TDU. Ken P is praying on the fears of the weak with his pyramid scheme. Any organization that divides us is the antithesis of Teamster! He is so against multiple salaries yet he collects multiple salaries himself and hides his LM2's. He's so for the "democratic" process of electing officials, when was the last time he held a TDU executive election...NEVER. He and his executives are not even Teamsters. He hasn't paid dues since 1974. The TRF and AUD (tdu sub companies) receive grants from The Right To Work (for less) Committee. I could go on for days about the research I've done on that antiunion social communistic organization of Termites Destroying Unions. Ask yourself one question......What is Paff's vested interest in pursuing the multilevel marketing scheme like TDU. He can't be IBT president cuz he isn't a Teamster, so it's not Power. So it must be money! You see, Paff started the TDU with some college buddies. Problem was that his buddies moved on to be doctors, lawyers and business men. Felling inferior, Paff took another direction in money. He would charge $40 a year for joining his cult. His plan was, "We only need 10% of Teamsters". Well 10% of Teamsters at $40 is 5.6 million dollars. His socialistic view is thwarted because because his organization is run on a capitalistic system. He makes the most and everyone on his staff makes a hell of a lot less. So, the initial work of TDU in the 70's thwarting corruption was sound and helpful. But that being said, TDU turned into a multi level pyramid scheme, divide us as members, promoting socialism blanketing on communism and run a 100% negative campaign against our union. It's March 27th 9:05am and TDU still sucks!

Stop the lies. Ken P was a freight driver from local 407. He left his job voluntarily to work for full time for TDU. Those were in the really bad old days before we had elections. It was his organization that pushed for years for elections. Multiple salaries?? That is a lie.

The entire TDU leadership (the steering committee) including paff's position, national organizer, is ELECTED at the annual TDU convention BY ITS MEMBERS who attend. All tdu members can attend and vote. Also, any tdu member has THE RIGHT to see the group's financial report. A matter of fact we go over line by line the finances and salaries of the organization. Paff and other staff members make less than a ups driver does!!Also, tdu does not get a dime from ANY employer or pro-employer source. However we all know that hoffa's campaigns over the years have, but I digress.

As for tdu and trf's annual budget, it is about $500,000. TDU is entirely funded by its members (read: TEAMSTERS).TRF is funded by donations from teamsters, other union members and a small number of pro-labor foundations.

As for paff or others doing this for the money, lol. Ive seen the detroit office and the brooklyn office. Both places share a very tiny space with other organizations. Its about the size of a medium- sized closet in the marble palace!!

So it seems your fiction about TDU is all made up. Must be because your sources "Stink"!!

Yes I can read wikipedia too. So your saying that the year he drove truck 1974 and left and has not spent a dime in dues since, classifies him as a teamster?
Your telling me the Paff's position is elected? Even though I know for a fact that's not true, his election takes place at the convention?
Your also saying that Paff's salary is less than 80k a year and does not get a dime from other TDU sources?
Your also saying TDU doesn't collect funds from grants from any other companies including those associated with RTW?
Your also saying TDU finances are available to see even though they were given a court order not divulge when they were taken to court over the finances and their allocations?
This is what your saying is fact?
Yes or No will be fine. I just want to see if your going to sell us on cool aid or outright lie to our faces.

lemmings.

We broke away from the lemmings. As to "stink", what I posted were called facts. You might like those facts because for so long you believed the fiction you were handed. Let me guess everyone YOU spoke to said the same thing about tdu!! That my friend is called being a lemming. Why dont you attend this year's convention and see for yourself. Come and "stink" up the place, lol.

How about TDU for calling the negotiations. They said that UPS would pull their demands of us paying for healthcare and they NAILED IT. Come on anonymous, stink219, orangputeh, upsman2940 and kingOFchester don't you admit that after that all-negative news/blame TDU for giving out the phone number garbage, that TDU calmly posted the contract negotiation update on their website saying UPS was expected to pull their health care proposal and UPS did. Isn't TDU great.

realbrown1

Annoy a liberal today. Hit them with facts.
Did they pull it?

You would have thought so after the first March 28th teamster press release. But who knows now? Both press releases on March 28th don't actually give alot of information.
I guess Hall and Hoffa want to keep the BROWNOUT going as long as possible.

Yes. I know all that. I know 3 peeps on the National. UPS fears Obamacare. As for time line, I say the longer we wait the better. Notice UPS stock recently? Isn't it considered insider trading if your directly related to decisions that affect the stock that you hold?

We received a RECORD increase of 9 dollars per hour in our last contract. Same guy who negotiated our 97 and 2002 contract. TDU posted on our last contract that we weren't getting raises. Any money would be diverted to pension. I received every raise.

Happy for you that you received every raise in wages. Here in 959, we did NOT receive ALL our raises because our vote was overridden when it didn't go the way that the Health & Welfare Trust wanted it to go.

Personally, I voted for half the wage increase to be diverted but I was in the 40ish% minority and then the results of the vote mandated in our Local rider were nullified. Oddly, I seem more betrayed than the 60ish% majority that had their vote overridden.

The silver lining is that Local 959 is switching from Hours to Dollars (a whole other discussion) for Health & Welfare so UPS Teamsters (and UPS) in the plan will start getting a fairer shake (depends on your view of fair I suppose) and H&W should be more sustainable in the long run once the dust settles.
