The moment we have all been waiting for, the light at the end of the tunnel has been found...I have less than 5 hours before I am finished with this night shift job! Years of late nights, cold weather/hot weather hours because ours seems to be the only plane willing to fly in and out even in the middle of a blizzard, as people I will never meet or be contacted by reap all of the benefits, is done! Sick days used up, floaters/personals taken, I just need to ride out my final shift and clock out of the building tonight.
I can have time to experience being a family again, go to children's school performances, watch them grow up from something other than a late night return home sleeping position. Even catch up with the rest of society that somehow always chose to meet during my shift at FedEx Express all of the time.
With that being said, I will see you guys on the other side!
