The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming!

Who was it that firebombed Dresden and Tokyo? Killed mostly civilians.
The difference is it was the Germans and Japanese who started that war and killed tens of millions. Had to be bombed into submission. The Ukrainians were only guilty of not letting the Russians control them.

We took over the Phillipines and fought a war to crush their notions of independence and self-government. Then, we started vacuuming up raw materials and resources in the region, making trade deals at gunpoint on the entire South and East coast of Asia.

We squeezed Japan for 40 years. We were in their backyard pressuring them for a generation or two before they struck back.

Yeah, we forced the Japanese to perform all those atrocities in China and elsewhere. But they were trying to help the Asians they said. Lol.

And what did Japan do with their new found power? Did they become a foundation for Asian democracy and unite the Asian people under democratic principles? No they steam rolled their neighbors and went on a rape and murder spree. They even knocked over Russia and if it wasn’t for racism among the white western nations the east coast of Russia would be Japan.

You act like all the :censored2:ty faults of humanity are unique to America, they aren’t. That is the way of the world, be glad your nation is on top.

Oh BS. Yes, we fought a war in the Philippines after obtaining the country from Spain. We also did something Spain never did. We built schools and taught English that united the Philippines which had 4 or 5 major languages and close to 200 dialects. After that war we administered the islands in such a way that by WWII the Filipinos got along with us very well and helped us fight the Japanese.

The Japanese were a militaristic society that had expansionist views. They had already beaten Russia in a war and had overrun China, SE Asia, and the western Pacific before attacking us. Why are you being an apologist for them? You make it sound like it was the evil U.S. that forced their hand. No, we and they were the two major powers in the Pacific and it was inevitable we would clash. Especially with everything Japan was doing over running their neighbors. The Japanese ruled with brutality and finally met their match when they decided to attack us.

By the way it was the French, British, and Dutch who controlled SE Asia, not us outside of the Philippines. So the notion that the U.S. was making trade deals at gunpoint in that area is baloney.

So, we were a major power in a region on the other side of the world, and the people on the other side of the world shouldn't mind us being there. Got it.

We "obtained" the country from Spain, and then killed anyone who wanted self-government.

I haven't said a word in defense of Japan. I have laid out a predictable series of events.

When you become a dominant regional power on the other side of the globe, the people on that side of the globe are motivated to find their way to your region.

They were figureheads. Just as they are now. Everybody knows we were the only ones who mattered.

We weren't a dominant regional power outside of the Philippines and some small island chains. Japan killed 20 million in China alone. The Japanese were expanionists, we weren't. And if we hadn't beaten them at Midway Hawaii would probably belong to them today and who knows what else.

You all must realize it sounds funny for the world's most dominant empire to be talking about the imperialism and aggression of anyone else.
Compare us with the British Empire. Did we send troops into dozens of countries to completely dominate them? We have been the most benevolent superpower in history. Guys like you can't seem to grasp that.

We assembled a world tour of firepower for the express purpose of threatening anyone who would question our will in SE Asia. Lol.

Of course we are more benevolent imperialists than Japs or Chinks.

But the aggression and imperialism is there nonetheless, and all the predictable consequences of it.

Well that would be news to them as it was their troops, their navies completely dominating that area. The U.S. didn't obtain superpower status until the end of WWII. It was our manufacturing that dominated the world while they were picking up the pieces.
