It took forever for Obama to produce his birth certificate. That contributed to the speculation more than about anything else. And Obama brought up racism all through his presidency. Something that will continue to divide us as long as Democrats think it's a good tool to get votes.
obama was bad for racism. proof that a half black president wont do much.

And you shouldn't assume motives. I disliked Obama's policies. His Obamacare screwed up insurance. He did little to improve the economy. His foreign policy was almost nonexistent. I didn't hate him personally but did think he was good for the country. And we have Biden today because Obama picked him for VP. What a legacy.
