I don't know if it's true or not there's something I heard on the radio

Bottom of the article rates it as 1/2 true. The argument seems to revolve around Medicare pays more for the Fusage of a ventilator vs the cost of the care for a patient who does not require intubation and a ventilator.

Nowhere does it mention ICD codes and that's how doctors/hospitals would communicate with medicare and insurance companies about patients.
