watch how democrats and republicans who supposedly dont agree on anything, suddenly come together to pass this gargantuan corporate giveaway.

were told the government cant get anything done. but actually the government is serving all of its 1% cronies quite nicely.

disappointing to see how rand paul is not following in is fathers footsteps and supports this corporate power grab of an agreement.

this is what corporations can do and have done under trade deals like TPP and NAFTA which both democrats and republicans supported. they can sue governments over regulations which affect or might affect their profits. meaning they dont even have to be making profits to sue them over would be future profits.

Belgian Socialist Region Threatens to Block Major EU-Canada Trade Deal
October 25, 2016
Headlines
A major trade deal between the European Union and Canada appears to be on the brink of collapse, after Belgium announced it would not sign the treaty amid massive local opposition in three regions of Belgium. The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, known as CETA, was expected to be signed this week. It requires the support of all 28 European Union countries to be approved, but on Monday Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel said he could not sign the agreement, because of opposition led by Belgium’s socialist-run Wallonia region, where residents are demanding stronger labor, health and environmental protections.

In reality, NAFTA devastated Mexico. In the first decade of NAFTA:
-Mexico lost over 900,000 farming jobs (forcing many Mexicans to seek work in the US)
-US corn exports to Mexico *quadrupled*
-Mexican corn prices fell 66% Source: http://money.cnn.com/2017/02/09/news/economy/nafta-farming-mexico-us-corn-jobs/index.html …
It devastated that industry but not Mexico. Spent three months down there including 2 months in Guadalajara, the second largest city. A lot of development for such devastation. Look at the auto related industry around Saltillo. One sector got hurt, but millions of jobs created by manufacturing.

Pushed the poor rural farmer into the city to find work. When that didn't happened they headed north.
