Bigger picture. Our unemployment was low and the stock market was strong under Obama, so those two are moot. Maybe it's gone up slightly under Trump, after all of his tax breaks for the rich. Also look at our national debt, and how the tax rates will change soon.

We were stagnant under Obama. He was the only president to never achieve 3% annual GDP. Could certainly blame the Great Recession for some of that but after 8 years? Obama hampered business with costly regulations. What's the importance of repatriation? Corporations were trying to protect their capital from a voracious government. Under Trump they feel like they can make and keep more. And of course the acid test is if things were going well under Obama Hillary would have won. The economy was stagnant and Trump jumpstarted it. And has done what's necessary since. If Hillary was president do you think she would have stood up to China? They would still be enjoying a huge trade imbalance that only benefited a relative few here. The Iranians would be cheating on the deal Kerry made, the Mexican border would still be porous, and most likely she would have gotten us involved in a regime change war that makes Wall Street and the military/industrial complex happy while making the rules of engagement detrimental to the safety of our troops. No, I'm not an economist who can roll out a bunch of stats, but I know what I'm seeing, and to your chagrin most Americans are seeing the same.
