Trump accuses Jon Stewart of "racist rant" in Cain segment - Yahoo! News

It was a play on words joke. It's only "racist" because Stewart is a Liberal. Trump is a maroon, which he proved (once again) last week when he tried to bring Rick Perry aboard the Birther Bus. The "racist rant" is actually very funny. Do you like Black Walnuts?

Probably not, but take it context with the emphasis on "Barak HUSSEIN Obama", the absurd "socialist" charges, and the ridiculously weak support the GOP has with minorities, and...well, how do you not question racism?

Why would anyone equate pointing out he has a shared name with a murderous tyrant with racism? The purpose that most have in pointing out the name is to draw a supposed connection with Islam, noting to do with his race. The socialist "charges" have nothing to do with his race, but his "share the wealth" statements.
I see more claims from the left about GOP racism than I see racism among the republicans that I personally know. Are there racists in the GOP? Sure there are as well as in the democrats and (probably) in the other smaller political influences. What I do question about racism is the (often) twisting of things said, down right ridiculous postulating that is prevalent in today's political atmosphere. When I read where someone has called 0bama a monkey (it has happened) I don't automatically assume they did so because of his race but take it the same as I would if they called him a clown. One can find a lot of statements, if they really want to, that race can be read into the comment.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the ridiculously weak support the GOP has with minorities". Do you mean the lack of minorities supporting the GOP or the lack of GOP support of minorities?

I'm not trying to convince anyone that someone is racist. What I am saying is that with the historical backdrop of our history, it's not hard to connect those dots.

Sometimes connecting the dots does not draw a realistic picture.

Still would like to know what you mean by GOP/minority support.

OK, I just got this in an email entitled Blatant Racism. I post it here because it is subtopic related....and partially because I think it is funny.

Blatant Racism

Everyone seems to be in such a hurry to scream 'racism' these days.

A customer asked the clerk, "In what aisle could I find the Polish sausage?"

The clerk asks, "Are you Polish?"

The guy, clearly offended, says, "Yes I am. But let me ask you something. If I had asked for Italian sausage, would you ask me if I was Italian? Or if I had asked for German Bratwurst, would you ask me if I was German? "Or if I asked for a kosher hot dog would you ask me if I was Jewish? Or if I had asked for a Taco, would you ask if I was Mexican? Or if I asked for some Irish whiskey, would you ask if I was Irish?"

The clerk says, "No, I probably wouldn't."

The guy says, "Well then, because I asked for Polish sausage, why did you ask me if I'm Polish?"

The clerk replied, "Because you're in Home Depot."

Now please don't say I am demeaning Polish people, I happened to have a good friend that is Polish. I will make sure he sees this, he'll laugh his ass off.

But "realit" can mean anything and can be skewed by ones own history. That doesn't mean it's the "race card", just that in our culture it is not hard to question.

As to the other, I think both fit.

Reality is what it is, how someone see's it can be skewed by their history. But reality can be skewed by rhetoric from "trusted" (for lack of a better word) sources giving false or twisted versions of reality.
In today's society, IMO, to question a statement as racist of and by it's self is very hard to do. The motive and the person making the statement have to be considered as well.

It may be hard to do, but to dismiss all such inquiries as "playing the race card" isn't fair either, is it?

An inquiry is not what I would always consider "playing the race card", it depends on how it is asked and the subsequent text, also in many situations who is asking. When a statement starts out with " That's racist" it's playing the card. When the question is asked if it was racist, then maybe not but still carries the sting of the card. IMO, when the claim of racism is attributed to an entire group, it isn't only incorrect but is intended to somehow demean the individuals in that group and to shut down all dialog. And that is not fair. That is certainly not debate.

Who has been shut down? If anything it's stirred more dialogue. It may only be back and forth and get nowhere, but would you have nothing said? Who then is looking to "demean" and "shut down"? When something is called "racist", then both sides should be able to discuss why or why not. Republicans right now are calling the scrutiny of the Cain situation racist and "high-tech" lynching. Really? Where is the racism? Or is the right, as you claim, simply trying to shut down the scrutiny of the republican front runner?

Sorry I didn't make myself clear. The dialog that gets shut down is what was the matter at hand when the "card" is played. The discussion changes from the original topic to being about racism. Our discussion here proves out my point, we have spend several posts talking about the virtuous vs. non-virtuous aspects of "playing the race card" and not the original topic.

Yea, Cain's "payback" comment playing the "card" was to divert the focus away from him and put the scrutiny on his opponents. I thought the "high-tech lynching" was a like diversion. No one said Cain couldn't learn from his opponents. BTW, I did a big eye roll when I read the "high-tech lynching" phrase.

I've called a couple of people on here racist as well, not because I really thought they were but because I saw saw a chance to show that it is no fun being called a racist when you know you are not.

Looks like the Golden Boy is going to make things easy for the democrats to win the 2012 ELECTION! I applaude his move! Too bad the C9 will have to wait until saturday morning to get their news on the story!

Trump leaves Republican Party after debate snub - Yahoo! News

By leaving the republican party and becoming an independent, Trump will surely destroy any chance the GOP may have had in 2012.

GO DONALD! Show us how ridiculously stupid you really are!!

Peace.

Zero chance of being the nominee, but a huge opportunity for him to be an attention whore and spout crap that he would run government and foreign relations like a business.

This is moronic, but he IS a maroon, and so are his GOP fans.
