Ukraine invasion demonstrates the importance of the Second Amendment
Ukraine has nothing like a Second Amendment, but by European standards, their gun regulation is fairly friendly, especially regarding rifles.
And now that their country is being invaded, the government has loosened the rules and authorized public carry of firearms. And as one reporter put it, weapons are being "handed out like candy."
What's ironic is how the media is gushing over ordinary Ukrainian citizens acquiring guns as if they've finally discovered the meaning of "keep and bear arms" after spending decades spitting in the face of American gun owners.
And of course the silence of gun control advocates puts their hypocrisy on full display.
What you're watching is a brutal, real-time demonstration of why gun ownership is at the core of a free people. And it should be obvious to everyone why it's not a privilege, but a basic human right.
I'm hoping to take a deep dive into Ukraine's gun laws and the role of citizens in Ukraine's defense in an upcoming podcast. Stay tuned.

I read an interesting book a couple years ago call the Next Hundred years or something similar.
The author stated 2 reason why there would never be a foreign troop invasion on US soil.
1. The supply chain would be almost impossible to keep troops fed and armed.
2. too many damn guns in the american populus .

I read that book.... Friedman's assumptions have no basis and very little of what he projected (to support his conclusions) has actually occurred since he wrote it.
In his own words, it is "far-fetched"....
I agree with 1. above, but not 2. Most gun owners have a box or 2 of ammo and are poor shots under pressure; not thousands of rounds that they'd need to be effective.

Been there many times.
You seem to have mixed up my meaning.
My point is that most people with modern firearms do not have the training, experience or supply of ammunition necessary to effect an army of soldiers.
I agree that it would never happen on US soil, but “everyone has a gun” means nothing because you need to have something to shoot out the barrel and not lose it when under fire to make those rounds count.
You really can’t argue that!

Suspect one was shot but died when suspect two ran him over with a car.
What was really bad were all the bullet holes way up ( second story ) on all the surrounding homes, when all the shooters were at ground level.
When suspect two was found in his hiding place the next day, multiple shots were fired directly at him from trained riflemen and he wasn't hit.

Every responsible citizen, and I know there is a minority fitting the qualification, should carry a concealed firearm, have a good home defense weapon such as a shot gun and have at least one long gun that will easily shoot accurately to 100yds. Several thousand rounds of ammo for the last item. Just my 2 cents.
