Walk off in Chicago?

Once again this was a grievance panal, not a contract negotiation. Yes it happened and was over just as quick.
I heard that it was past midnight on a Thursday night and the UPS officials had to go because the parking lot was closing. The union did not want to finish on Friday so they wanted to continue the hearings through the night and UPS said no.

Local705/MetroChicago parttimer here. Scenario as I understand it:
A)We have our own contract modelled(sp?) after the NMA.
B)Most of our Exec. Bd. @ nat'l early negotations
C)Routine grievance panel meeting. Company hadn't moved on some grievances (I thought I heard 5).
D)72 hour strike notice given by remainder of Exec. Bd. @ 3PM friday, talks continued till after 11PM.
E)General membership mtg. sunday I dutifully attended and learned of this.
friend)Arrived for twilight shift monday, SN(FU). Chatted with feeder driver who pulls my load, he hadn't heard of any of this, but surmised Company got 30 day extension from our Sec'y/Treasurer.
So to sum it up, we had local issues and attempted to resolve them in an appropriate manner as laid out in our agreement.
