No poor margins in express caused the dump. We are still moving Amazon just not delivering it by express. 50 lbs weight limit , casual drivers in rural areas Express is being downgraded.

That’s right, express is being downgraded. Except we are still just as busy without any Amazon sooooo

Oh, not this again.

Express is being downgraded, that's why there was a parade of people at my sta for interviews for two new positions they're hiring for, this week.

Weight limit hasn't changed. What we're required to be able to lift without assistance has.

The article was a piece of amusing fiction.Congress would never approve the sale of the USPS to Bezos or anybody for that matter without requiring the buyer to assume the USPS pension obligations. The biggest driver of change going forward will be over capacity or a huge spike in oil prices forcing carriers to apply enormous fuel surcharges or reduce service levels to the sparsely populated and or economically depressed rural areas.
One thing they share in common is that all they want is that easy in town stuff while none want a thing to do with the bum :censored2:s . And if they cut back service too far in those areas they might find themselves sitting in the hot seat in front of a congressional committee that's not in a good mood that day.

The Article was very good, many parts i agree with. The end sentence however will not happen with the USPS/Amazon. The 500 Fed-Ex in house centers has been touched on for awhile (anyone know how many are actually up and running) I think it is a great idea, for code 8's,sig req, hold at locations, next could be be same day delivery's in larger markets.Amazon is and now and will be a playing force for sure in the next 5 years, logistics is their #1 priority moving forward.
