Washington Redskins will be changing their name this week.

Our local idiots here bowed to Indian pressure and got rid of our High Schools name--The Warriors (with an Indian Chief logo). We are still known as the Warriors but with a fierce looking Viking warrior as a logo. Screw the Indians. Let them just vanish into history to the point nobody knows about them. That is apparently what they want.
Screwing the Indians is what's making them vanish. Most are half white or more.

That is something I have been wondering about.
The Native Americans should help in this 'renaming/logoing' to retain the Native American presence but in a way that helps to highlight their images and names in a positive manner.
We have the "Atlanta Braves" and I have never viewed the name Braves in a negative manner ... in fact, it is one that elevates the name Braves and the Brave's image in a positive way.
It is a compliment when one says another person is 'brave'.

One thing is for sure ... I don't give a s:censored2:t what some 'woke' White person thinks!

I believe the Braves have retired this logo.

There was a big push about 15 years ago to rename all roads, lakes and pretty much everything else that had an Indian name. This was pushed for by the Indians. Many names were changed. Screw the Indians- if they want to be forgotten so be it.

There have surveys of Native Americans on how they feel about the mascots. Most are positive. A small minority don't like it and are usually young activists. And probably indoctrinated by some liberal white professor who knows what's best for them. The Washington Redskins owner should have held his ground but once the sponsors start bailing it's difficult to do. People need to realize that the majority of Native Americans are of mixed ancestry in the U.S. and even on many reservations there's a lot of patriotism. My wife and I attended a July 4th fireworks celebration on an Apache reservation in Arizona in 2015. A great experience!

The Apaches have money to buy fireworks.
