Interesting to know. I'm assuming this is just for bid drivers, and cover drivers can't get on the 9.5 list correct?

Nope! I don’t have a bid route, I have less than 4 years FT seniority, and i’m on the 9.5 list.

Article 37 Section 1(c) of the National Master Agreement:

Employees within the full-time driver classification shall be eligible for the protection of this Section provided: (1) the employee covers a route for a full week; (2) the employee bids or is assigned to cover a route for a full week but is prevented from completing that bid or assignment due to reassignment by the Employer; or (3) an employ- ee with four (4) years of seniority as a full-time package driver.

I was still a Tuesday through Saturday driver when I opted-in to the 9.5 list. Most drivers in my center thought it couldn’t be done, but it worked for me... I love getting those triple time penalty checks.

It's master language, anyone in your center can get on the 9.5 list.

PT Cover Drivers like we have in the West can not get on the 9.5 list because they are not Full Time Drivers. I don't know if that is what @take your time is.

Even though PT Cover Drivers work all read just like a FT Driver they still can't get on the list.

What management won't tell you...

Promotion prerequisites

Glibness and Superficial Charm

Manipulative and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible. They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely an instrument to be used. They may dominate and humiliate their victims.

Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as "their right."

Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. Extremely convincing and even able to pass lie detector tests.

Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims. The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.

Shallow Emotions
When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive. Outraged by insignificant matters, yet remaining unmoved and cold by what would upset a normal person. Since they are not genuine, neither are their promises.

Incapacity for Love

Need for Stimulation
Living on the edge. Verbal outbursts and physical punishments are normal. Promiscuity and gambling are common.

Callousness/Lack of Empathy
Unable to empathize with the pain of their victims, having only contempt for others' feelings of distress and readily taking advantage of them.

Poor Behavioral Controls/Impulsive Nature
Rage and abuse, alternating with small expressions of love and approval produce an addictive cycle for abuser and abused, as well as creating hopelessness in the victim. Believe they are all-powerful, all-knowing, entitled to every wish, no sense of personal boundaries, no concern for their impact on others.

Early Behavior Problems/Juvenile Delinquency
Usually has a history of behavioral and academic difficulties, yet "gets by" by conning others. Problems in making and keeping friends; aberrant behaviors such as cruelty to people or animals, stealing, etc.

Irresponsibility/Unreliability
Not concerned about wrecking others' lives and dreams. Oblivious or indifferent to the devastation they cause. Does not accept blame themselves, but blames others, even for acts they obviously committed.

Promiscuous Sexual Behavior/Infidelity
Promiscuity, child sexual abuse, rape and sexual acting out of all sorts.

Lack of Realistic Life Plan/Parasitic Lifestyle
Tends to move around a lot or makes all encompassing promises for the future, poor work ethic but exploits others effectively.

Criminal or Entrepreneurial Versatility
Changes their image as needed to avoid prosecution. Changes life story readily.

Thank you for the good laugh. Sometimes I feel the same way honestly about the the managers in my building. Usually really nice to my face, but on the inside a complete psychopath.

Hopefully upper management will not figure out who this Sup is .If they do they might just can him. Being in management at UPS stinks.I saw a lot of drivers that I drove with go into management and most got run off for one reason or another . Some off them close friends ! I stuck it out, much safer on the truck. I saw one guy that use to run my route when I was on vac. go into management as an on-car sup only to last about 2 years before he was fired. I saw him a couple of years later and he told me getting fired was the best thing to happen to him.He said getting fired gave him "his life back" He now is an hourly worker at a local papermill and he says he now goes home at night and leaves the job there. So "Mister on-Car" I think you are the one that really needs to "CYA"

Flag stops are nothing but trouble.

I never understood drivers that called pickups either.
They were stuck by a train, in traffic, or behind an accident.

I didnt do it every day but if I was stuck at a RR crossing I'd call ahead and let them know I would be there (if they had something going out) and make arrangements of where they were going to leave them if they had to leave.

Send a diad message to management letting them know what is going with the delay.
Let them figure it out.
At least once that day they get to make a decisolion.
