You really need to learn about Imperial Japan and who exactly got nuked.
These people would of never surrendered without good cause. Imperial Japan is one of my favorite countries. I think they would of fought down to the last woman and child if the emperor commanded it.
i think they already basically surrendered before the nukes. ill quote it.

The Japanese were extremely racist which is what got them into trouble. They believed they had a right to dominate others because they were naturally superior. We literally had to kick their ass for them to concede that line of thinking was wrong. I do think it comes out in the quality of their manufacturing because they will never let it be said they make crap. Which gets them a loyal customer base.

Everyone was extremely racist. Including the western powers and everyone was doing very horrible :censored2: at the time and the people that were having it done to them probably would of been doing the same :censored2: if they could.

It was just a rougher time than what we go through now, with a lot less :censored2:s given and not the same speed that information can travel.

No they didn’t. They didn’t even surrender after the nukes, they surrendered with Russia entering the war. At least that a popular opinion on it. I think they lost more people from fire bombing their cities than from the nukes, the nukes were just more shock and awe.

The racist Americans weren't trying to overrun everyone else. Come to think of it that only describes a few countries.

True, the firebombing of Tokyo alone killed more people.

Shouldn’t be talking :censored2: when you live in buildings made of bamboo and twigs.

We definitely had our hands in a lot of pots at the time and were opposing any European influence in South America so we could influence them. Also the Philippines. America during that time were less imperialist than Japan for sure though, but Japan was late to the party.

Japan fought a war with Russia in the early 1900's and kicked their ass. A major reason the communists were able to take power. They had already overrun China in the 30's, quite some time before Pearl Harbor. Not many people are aware but the U.S., after taking over the Philippines at the end of the Spanish-American War fought a war with the Filipinos in the early 1900's. After that was settled they built schools all over the country. The Spanish kept the Filipinos divided with 4 or 5 major languages and close to 200 dialects. After 300 years only about 10% spoke Spanish. Due to the American influence the majority speak English as a second language and it's the language of business. Those were Filipinos fighting alongside Americans against the Japanese.

America did a lot more than just build some schools. The Philippines broke the imperialist sentiment in America, it took away that veil of we are the good guys and god’s people doing god’s work.
It inspired a lot of work from Mark Twain. Especially after that whole Spanish american war debacle.

The only true American colonialism was taking over Spanish possessions and grabbing Hawaii. Can't begin to compare to European colonialism, especially the British Empire. We however let the Filipinos vote for their independence, we got out of our two major military bases there as our leases expired when they asked us to, and we've given Puerto Rico numerous chances to vote for independence, statehood, or remain a commonwealth. I don't see us invading and dominating all over the world like the Europeans did.
