side note i dont think people understand how far right wing the country has drifted. eisenhower was a new dealer.
Eisenhower condemned the military industrial complex, rounded up Mexicans and sent them back, built some highways.

I don’t know that much about the dude, but this country isn’t going right wing. Even if it shifts right for a period, it is irreversibly damaged by left wing radicals every time they regain power. Left wing programs never disappear. I can’t think of anything Trump has done that can’t just be undone by the next guy.

i think with the great depression you had the new deal and you reached peak unionization. the country ran on keynesian economics. in the 1960s and 70s you had consumer rights movements, and anti war, womens rights, etc. it was called an "excess of democracy" as if democracy can be a bad thing. business class took notice and began the counter offensive starting with reagan and that was the end of keynesian economics. bill clinton pushed the democrats right as well which pushed republicans further right. i think with trump he has been described as neo facist in part (he also doesnt really believe in anything aside from whats good for him).

I've seen these studies kid.
They look at bankruptcies and if the person had any kind of medical debt they count it as a medical debt bankruptcy. They're just pushing an agenda with misleading statistics.

You know why most people go bankrupt?
Because they're irresponsible idiots.

Democracy can be bad, our country wasn’t founded to be a direct democracy. Trump is called neo fascist by people who hate America and view loving it regardless of its faults and enjoying all the good of it as being a sheep. Why do you love America, why don’t you love my theoretical Marxist utopia that has never existed in reality?

I think the number 1 cause of bankruptcies is cheap money. No need to save up for big purchases when you can instantly get a loan and make payments. Which by itself isn’t a bad thing, but developing that mind state that you don’t need to save money or have cash set back, always in debt and never ahead. Losing a job you scheduled your monthly payments around or even just getting your hours reduced can devastate people with this mentality.

I didn’t really read these but I think they highlight what I’m saying. Americans don’t save money anymore, low interest cash loans make that you are not penalized for not saving money. If you were saving money for something instead of going into debt for said thing and something comes up, you just don’t buy that thing. Instead you spiral into debt at a minor hiccup in employment.

He is disputing the claim that those studies are accurate. Sort of like them declaring someone positive for covid-19 who dies from a heart attack after years of bad dieting a covid death.
Sure those people have medical debt, just like the person had covid, but there are other problems that spiraled them into death, or bankruptcy.

I don’t think there will be a government graph that just comes out and says people are irresponsible idiots. I think that is kind of interpreted by consumer spending habits vs their saving habits.
