And, where you would rather live.

Does living in the "Land of the free, and home of the Brave" bother you ?

Any financial rewards you have incurred, are from living and working in this country.

Right ??

I think what he saying is that living in a so-called "Land of the free, and home of the Brave" means being able to say "the U.S. is nowhere near the top in freedom indexes, quality of life, and so on. So your "free American" in a "free capitalist society" rhetoric, is actually what is beyond lame. And incorrect."
And frankly, I agree. Silly slogans such as "land of the free" and "home of the brave" are meaningless.

Wow, you haters love to bring everything back to Tim. Anyway, if we had a true single payer implemented, it would NOT be "worse than what we have". First, it would be guaranteed...from birth til death...no employer/union would have the ability to cut benefits or bargain away, etc. Second, non-complex billing instead of the bureaucratic mess it is today...the government pays the bills...simple. Third, since no insurance companies are involved, no more premiums and co-pays,etc. Fourth, no more denial of services for pre-existing conditions, etc. Fifth, no more worries of "in network" or "out of network" costs. Finally, wouldn't it be great to not have to worry every 5 or 6 years whether our coverage is going to change because of concessions during contract negotiations. Or even the trouble of changing doctors, etc when moving from Teamcare or UPS care or the company/union plan onto Medicare when we turn 65??

I just don't see any countries with single payer that have better insurance than we do.....so it would be a concession if you and Tim are for that..........what country has better health insurance than us.....Canada England and Cuba I hear are disasters

A song?? Really?? I'm sorry I prefer things like the Constitution.

It's obvious....

You have no understanding, of the history of our country.

No understanding, of the "bill of rights".

Certainly, no understanding of the constitution.

Stop now.

You are making "your" generation.... dumber, than they look.

No understanding, of the "Bill of Rights".

Your understanding seems selective, arbitrary and convenient.
Our country's history is sorted and predicated on a series of lies and injustices, many of which we are still paying a lofty price for now.
Ironically, at the time it was penned and adopted, in this "land of the free and home of the brave", the Bill of "Rights" only applied to white people of European descent.

Certainly, no understanding of the Constitution.

We understand that there have been 27 amendments to the Constitution and that we are in dire need of several more.

Stop now.

You are making "your" generation.... dumber, than they look.

Perhaps you should stop now before you make "your" generation...look older and more out of touch than they really are?

In the end, you guys clamor about how "times have changed", while desperately clinging to the status quo of the past.
Some of us realize the futility of clinging to an "unsustainable" system, as it is ridden into extinction.

You can't have it both ways, sorry.

So countries like England, France, Germany, Japan, etc are NOT "free"?? That is silly. As for "capitalist", we do have public schools, public hospitals, public libraries, etc, yet most Americans are fine with that "socialism". This is 2015, not 1950. Americans are not scared by that word anymore.

You wouldn't have to amend the constitution. Congress would only have to amend the Medicare Law by striking the words "65 years or older".

I/we would not be "giving up" any rights. A matter of fact we would be expanding our rights. The only entities that would lose actual "rights" are the private insurance companies. Alas.

"Lame" would be keeping a system that doesn't cover all citizens and costs more per capita than any other major industrial country that implements a Single Payer System. Throwing the words "free" and "socialism" around are reactionary methods of scaring the populace into keeping the status quo. Just listen how some Republican reactionaries speak about unions as "socialistic" and taking away workers' "freedoms".
You seem to have struck a nerve with -BUG- on this issue.

Makes me wonder how much money "big union guys" would stand to lose, in additional checks from sitting on multiple boards and committees, if what you advocate came to fruition?

More often than not, if you follow the money, you find the truth.

Let me know, when you (ever) get elected.

Or, any TDU'er.... for that matter.

Here's a hint:

It won't be this election cycle.
