I don't ever remember posting that......I don't even know who Dougherty is.

OK, just curious as I couldn't figure it out myself. Could have been worse, you could have messed up doing a copy and paste from a porn site instead of a newspaper political cartoon!

Just the thought of it!

For those who don't know, Wikileaks is holding a 5GB file from a hard drive of a BofA executive and could be the smoking gun the economic oligarchy does not want made public. This also doesn't include the poison pill file either!

I've always felt that the BofA file and other corp. exposure were the real parties ultimately being protected and not the lives of "our brave heroes" as is so often claimed. Our noble, wellmeaning men and women soldiers have always been nothing more than fodder in corp. wars and it's time the truth came out for all to see!

And the shock of the nation to that revelation would cause what exactly? As we awake to find that we are part of the "machine" what's to say that we long for a "Neo"? Quite probable that we sink back into our goo of comfort and plug back in to the ease of life that the corporates allow us, the opiate of societal non-involvement. If Marx was right and religion was the opium of the masses, what's that make World of Warcraft and Facebook?

I thought I heard that Assange was upset because some of the details of the sex charges against him were "leaked" out to the public.

Again from South Pacific......"Now ain't that too damn bad...."

bbsam,

Here's the big secret for you, there is no Neo, never was, never will be. Truth is, you are your own Neo "if" you choose to be and the world outside the so-called matrix is what you and others you interact with make of it. That's the real Free Market.

And that is where it get's to the heart of your question.

Yes. But with all the warts and cysts and ugliness we tend to prefer the status quo, cuz in the big picture of one's individual life, it just ain't so bad.

The first step in opening the cage door is to admit the cage itself is "friend"ed up. As the conditions of the cage get worse, and they will, the illusions of comfort of the status quo will begin to crack and crumble and then "ain't so bad" will be!

That is a possibility. By then, however, "ain't so bad" becomes "we have no hope" and in a generation the cage becomes the norm. (Kinda lyrical).

All I can say is :

So much for freedom of speech and freedom of the press !
The National Enquire and other stupid tabloids print out crap every week.
But when the facts come out, like on wikileaks - wow - someone in deep trouble !

UN to investigate treatment of jailed leaks suspect Bradley Manning

Office of rapporteur on torture confirms it is looking into complaint made by Manning supporter.
In an interview with MSNBC, Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, described Manning as a political prisoner and called on human rights organisations to investigate.

Glenn Greenwald at Salon wrote this yesterday (12/23) on the Manning situation.

Why do you think that theft and freedom of the press equal the same thing?

As Arab peoples begin to force a change in their leadership, it is my hope they gain access to documents and agreements made never before seen by the Global public. I'd like to encourage all those who seek truth and freedom to protect and maintain those documents and to expose them to the world through Wikileaks!
