Workers comp and TAW

I have been placed on taw and was curious on if anyone had experience with it. I was given work way out of my restriction on my second day and had to visit the doctor the next day due to complications and they ended up giving me more detailed restrictions. Since then I am having difficulty with loud noises and bright lights both of which are on my restrictions. I wear ear plugs and sunglasses all shift and i still struggle. I tried to call out the other night when I was told that it is not allowed. So I still went in only for them to offer me to go home anyways. I have reached out to work comp, insurance, and finally my BA when I still wasn’t getting answers on how to get them to follow simple restrictions from my doctor. BA said there is nothing he can do that I have to see the dr. My Dr says I need to talk to my supervisors. Is it common to get hurt at work and be pushed around during recovery? I have brought up that they are going against Dr orders but they just said they have to offer me work there is nothing they can do.

Your Doctor has to set your restrictions but you should contact a work comp attorney. Also tell your doctor it's not up to your sup it's up to him and to grow a pair and be a doctor.

Yes. I was discharged from that doctor now and they are giving me the run around on a referral for a specialist so I guess my next stop will be a lawyer. I just wish the supervisors would abide by these restrictions because they pretty much say there is no work in my restriction range in the warehouse so why not just put me out of work until I get better? It’s like they want you to suffer.

You need to advocate for yourself here. You cannot do ANYTHING outside of the Doctors restrictions. That being said, make sure you contact a WC lawyer before it’s too late.

I’ve seen them make people write the DOK and 5’s and 10’s for 8 hours. The 30 days of TAW is real.

How could you be discharged from a doctor on the second day of your injury??? Let’s get the whole story.

Discharged from specific facility because they did not have a specialist to help me further. They had to refer me to a specialist
You need a lawyer immediately to explain your specific rights in your state. Ask your BA if there is one they recommend that I used to dealing with UPS bull:censored2:.

I hurt my shoulder, and LM claimed I could be cured with therapy, even though the MRI the day after the injury showed a complete tear of my rotator cuff. I took therapy for months, came in on TAW. I think I actually filed paperwork for 1 day. I was then told to go to the breakroom and sit for 8 hours a day and watch TV. I didn't get any better. Another Doctor said it was a complete tear. DUH. I had surgery and went through a lot longer therapy time than I would have if they would have just ok'ed the surgery in the first place.

I’d run Missorts over to a building about 20 miles away in a sprinter. then :censored2: around over there most of the day hanging out in the breakroom nobody ever asked what I was doing there
Pretty easy taw
