You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
Can’t even keep track of entire trailers worth of boxes.

There are RFID tags that can track the exact gps location of every box if they want to and UPS has entire trailers that go missing and then poof reappear.

Someone should tell corporate stimulus will be extended through the election at min. Then comes peak. So we need to hire like A LOT of people.

We're dropping like flies here. So far 3 stress leave, 2 disability cases, 4 TAW, sick calls and Max vacations. Company is freaking out. Anyone that gets hurt is getting a warning now. They are skipping progressive discipline and going right to warning letters with attendance.

Moral is so low that people don't even care anymore. They sit in the office, even the suck ups and literally saying. "Who cares" when they are told they are getting a warning letter.

This company has no clue how to manage during something like this. Case in point above.

People hurt and stressed out Can’t take the year round peak and never ending packages.

new sup: what do we do

upper management: this is when we really tighten the screws on them.

Our preload has replaced 80% of their workers this month and 50% of those have quit. Good times.

UPS has definitely lost their way in this world of technology, they have no plan for irregular ops. They have almost no managers left that can think for themselves without approval from above for fear of being fired.

The rift between management and hourly has gotten so bad that most hourly employees just don’t care about all the problems anymore, if you try and help management just blows you off.

We have a straight line of sight belt in our center. We use colors and animals for route names. I gave them the suggestion to make it easier on the splitter to put “push” and or “pull” on the spa to know which side of the belt it should be on. Do you think they used it? Nope they chose “East” “West”

Ive been here for 8 weeks.
This company is so rigid and ossified that I don`t think it can adapt to change.
As time goes on, this will be a death sentence.
I dont know enough people to make a judgement about moral, but I threw out the boat anchor today, and instead of loading 1000+ pieces in four hours, I loaded 600.
Productivity for the entire belt collapsed, people were pissed.
For fun, im going to hustle tomorrow, then slack on Wednesday.

Absolutely right. No way this 113 year old company knows how to adapt to change. We're doomed.

The shame of it is, the ephemeral nature of a corporation is entirely predictable, and has played out thousands of times throughout history. You would think business leaders would catch on at some point.

I can’t believe they are not hiring more people, we got tcds that have to go to preload and run out of hours at 5 and supervisors going to finish the routes. i can’t believe they won’t hire more preloaders.

I had a buddy get into it with a shop steward because the steward wanted to file on a 3 day suspension and my bud wanted the three days off. I don’t care anymore either I’d gladly take a suspension.

Preload has had drivers coming in early for months now.

Local sort has been asking for driver help for a few weeks now.

preload has tried hiring but almost everyone quits in the first week.

Didn't Dennis Taylor say to expect mass layoffs? Haha. We have entered a permanent leap in online commerce. Even in a poor economy we will be delivering more than we did before COVID. They are trying to adapt to change, but it doesn't happen overnight. My building has been been hiring so many new drivers I don't even recognize half the faces anymore. Be an armchair quarterback all you want but in the end, UPS will be more successful than ever. The new delivery culture just grew at an unprecedented rate.
