If you're in an area that's begging for drivers, go for it. If not, there's gotta be other opportunities in your field unless you've been kicked out. I wouldn't leave your situation.

Going through the TCD/preload process is a whole lot of being nobody for quite a while unless you get really lucky.

You leave work now at 4 pm; compare that to no preset quitting time. You are probably off now for two weeks at Christmas time;
you will be off Christmas day.
