As a package delivery driver, Pablo Sanchez, 70, says he’s navigated through various situations when it comes to safe driving.

He’s experienced being on the road near others who are distracted by their phones and trying to avoid nilgai and other wildlife during late night routes.

Sanchez said he’s even experienced a buzzard smashing through his windshield that tried to fight him.

He says being a delivery driver involves long hours that some people probably wouldn’t want to do, but he just happens to be one who does.

The news was made official Thursday evening.

Jake Pratt, a 22-year-old from Vestavia Hills, Alabama has landed his dream job. That’s 22 years after his parents were told that he didn’t have a chance. Twenty-two years after doctors told Jay and Kathy Pratt not to expect much.

Jake Pratt has proved them all wrong. He’s a high school grad, an alum of Life College at Clemson University. And now, it’s been made official. Not holiday help, but a career. Not a fleeting gig, but a life.

“The whole situation is tragic”: About a million bees died when left on a hot UPS truck for weeks – CBS News

Most of more than a million bees shipped by a Pennsylvania distributor died when they were left on a hot UPS truck for weeks, CBS Boston reports.

The station says it was too late to save them when a beekeeper was finally called in on Wednesday.

And Anita Deeley, a former Massachusetts Department of Agriculture inspector and a beekeeper, told CBS Boston, “Almost all of them could have been saved if they called someone right away.”

UPS driver spots 86-year-old woman bleeding in street, carries her to hospital – KTVU

An 86-year-old woman from Santa rosa says a UPS driver came to her rescue in the middle of his work day.

Magda Vahey fell and broke her wrist while crossing the street near Providence Santa Rosa Hospital last month.

UPS spokeswoman Amanda Catala said Devon Brooks saw the woman lying in the middle of the street bleeding and ran to help.

When Vahey told him that she was in excruciating and pain couldn’t walk, Brooks carried her to the hospital and stayed until she was admitted, Catala said.

UPS to hire more than 125 employees in Indianapolis – Fox 59

UPS is expecting to hire more than 125 more employees in the Indianapolis area as they look to support their e-commerce-related shipping needs.

In a news release, UPS said the jobs are part-time package handling positions in UPS sortation hubs and centers. Corporate spokespeople say these jobs can lead to full-time positions.

“We’re proud to move our world forward by delivering what matters, and the rapid and ongoing growth of e-commerce coupled with overall demand for our services is creating new part-time opportunities,” said Stephanie Maymon, Director of Human Resources. “We’re looking for people to join our team here in the Indianapolis area, and to possibly start a great career at UPS.”
