Multiple electronic devices taken from package UPS truck

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in finding suspects in an strong-arm robbery of a UPS truck outside a wireless store in the city’s Lakeshore District, authorities said.

At 12:18 p.m., police responded to calls about a robbery in the 3100 block of Lakeshore Avenue.

Officers later learned that a UPS driver was making a delivery to the Sprint Store, 3199 Lakeshore Ave., when three suspects came up and starting taking packages.

UPS Pours $270,000 Into Women In Exports Initiative – Freightwaves

United Parcel Service Inc. (NYSE: UPS) has invested $270,000 into promoting women in the exporting industry as part of the more than $10 million pledged by the UPS Foundation last year to promote diversity and inclusion.

According to Kathleen Marran, who was recently promoted by the company to Vice President of Marketing, diversity segments, the money was presented to the International Trade Centre’s SheTrades program, which will work in tandem with UPS’ Women in Exports Initiative to provide opportunity to women in the industry.

Black workers in Ohio accuse UPS of allowing hate at work – CNN

Nineteen UPS workers are suing the parcel distributor, saying they suffered repeated racial discrimination and the company did nothing to stop it.

Managers and supervisors enabled and even encouraged the hate at the distribution center in Maumee, Ohio, according to the lawsuit filed Wednesday afternoon in Lucas County Court in Ohio.
The workers claim nooses were hung above the workstation of an African-American employee, that a monkey doll dressed as a UPS employee was placed near others and the N-word was frequently used.

UPS employee stole $37,000 in jewelry, Round Rock police say – Statesman

A Hutto man is accused of stealing more than $37,000 in diamond jewelry when he worked for United Parcel Service in Round Rock last year, an arrest affidavit said.

Marcus Mitchell, 37, was charged with theft, a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
