UPS Statement on Decision Not to Support National Political Party Conventions in 2016

UPS made the decision last year not to support either political convention when it established the company’s 2016 budget.

We will not have a presence at the Republican nor the Democratic convention. It is erroneous to assert or infer that UPS decided not to support the conventions due to the identity or position of a candidate. In fact, UPS made this decision before any candidate filed for election. It was not a political decision, by any means.

Atlanta-based package shipping giant United Parcel Service Inc. (NYSE: UPS) and several other corporate giants that sponsored the 2012 Republican National Convention will not sponsor this year’s convention in Cleveland.

The Hill reported the Atlanta-based package shipping giant, Wells Fargo, Motorola, JPMorgan Chase, Ford and Walgreens told Bloomberg they won’t sponsor the 2016 GOP event.

“None of the companies commented on whether their decision to pull out was because of the GOP’s divisive presumptive nominee,” The Hill reported.

UPS driver rescues puppy dropped in street in Hughson, police say – Modesto Bee

A United Parcel Service driver has delivered an Uplifting Puppy Story.

Jason Harcrow, 39, was on the job about 3 p.m. Tuesday in the area of East Hatch and Mountain View roads when he saw an old blue farm truck speeding off, leaving a small dog in a cloud of dust.

“I’m rolling up and I see it pull away in the dirt, going pretty fast, and the little dog is chasing it down the yellow line,” the Hughson resident said Wednesday morning. He’s seen enough roadkill in his 16 years with UPS to fear the animal quickly would be “a goner.”
