Where did you get the idea that the white South switched COMPLETELY from Democratic to Republican? Republicans are in the majority in southern States but there are plenty of white Democrats here. And have been for almost two centuries.

I know you want to say it's racism, but a major factor was the Democrats made a conscious decision to support minorities at the expense of poor whites. That drove many whites to the Republican Party. But what you may not realize is right now that process is repeating itself. The Democratic Party is right now making a conscious decision to support illegal immigrants at the expense of poor blacks and Hispanics. They see an advantage in importing millions of people all at once and creating a new dependent class. If you haven't been following the polls support for Biden with minorities is dropping precipitously. So while you're caught up in needling Republicans with suggestions of racism your own party is pulling the rug out from under you. I can see the day coming where Democrats will be excoriating American minorities for being xenophobic. The new virtue signaling.
