Only Floridians would think that a certain type of a rainstorm would remind them of a hurricane. Who remembers the names of all those hurricanes? (Those that went through them would!)

I'll take 20-30 inches of snow any day over a crack in the earth or the big blow. We remember the bad ones without names.

We always called it Blizzard of '77, but probably the same winter you speak of.

Around here it was '67, '78, '79, '84, '90, '98, and 2 in Feb. '09.

'67 and '78 probably the worst. Might of been 3 sno-blowers in the whole city in '67. Not many 4-wheelers in '78. I had a '65 Bonneville w/posi for a winter car back then. She was a beast. Seats 7 and on dry roads not many could get past that 421. Miss that car.

Actually I was still living in Mass at the time so it was '78. We didn't have school for a week and I can recall jumping off the roof of the house in to the snow.

Don't know anything about the center but I did see how bad Daytona was hit. Peoples homes flooded, roads closed and damages at or above $100 million.
