Meaning? Unlike you, not many things get under my skin, so there's really no need to give anyone a "smack down", which is what you seem to do all the time, lately.Yes, and unlike yours, it is not generic, lite or comical.
This post has been edited to show the truth behind the post.Defying my contract?
I take my full lunch and break but I take them when it is convenient for me and for my customers, between my first and second set of pickups.
Most of the drivers in my center take their meal breaks outside of the contractual times.
Nice way of adding that MOST of the other driver's in your center do the same thing, which makes it perfectly okay for you to do so. If the other driver's jumped off a bridge.....?
Cutting corners?
If you are talking about calling certain COD customers so that they will have their checks ready so that I am not wasting time when I get there then, yes, I guess I do cut corners.
You're right, you are cutting corners. What you should do is inform that/those customers that they have a C.O.D. and wait for them to write the check. Now, while you are waiting, (and getting paid, may I add), you can suggest that future C.O.D. pkgs can be picked up at your center, or that the customer get the C.O.D. amount from the shipper via email, fax or phone call, when shipped, so it's not such a hardship on YOU.
If you are talking about customers calling me so that they can get their pkgs earlier then, yesI cut corners.
If you're breaking trace to coddle these customer's, then yes, you are cutting corners and could very well be reprimanded for your actions.
If you are talking about me taking the most direct route from the package car to the front door, which means walking on the grass, then, yes I cut corners.
Twisted ankle/sprained knee, stepping in dog doo or pissing off the customer, could be the outcome of THIS behavior. Is it really worth the risk?
Falsifying? Picking up an ARS/RS while making a delivery and then waiting until I get to my next pickup stop, scanning it and adding it to the total, is much more efficient than standing there and recording it as an unscheduled pickup for which there is a meager time allowance given.
Nationally we're being told to sheet them as special pick ups, not unscheduled. I believe by adding them to some other pick ups count total, YOU ARE falsifying your records, but I see, you're only working smarter (as you see it), not as the company that you get paid by, wants you to work.
I think I do a good job?
Still think so?
I work hard and I take care of my customers.
You wouldn't have to work so hard, if you changed some of the above behaviors.
For example, just last night I was at one of my drop boxes and noticed a NADA envelope with an ASD. The customer had forgotten to put the destination address on there--it was blank. I called the phone number on the return address but got no answer so I tried to find her name in the phone book. She was listed, I called her, left a message. She called the center about 10 minutes later, gave us the address, and her NDA letter will be at the destination Monday morning.
So you basically took it upon yourself to perform the night clerks duties? It's no wonder people are getting laid off at the rate they are. We're all part of the machine and should function according to our duties, so that other, may have duties to perform.
Would you have done all that?
That's what clerks are for.......
I could care less but this works out better for me.
And herein you have all the reasoning of the man they call Upstate.
I think you need to move on Dave.
Working as directed? I think not! Thanks. As Over said I am simply working as directed. As for cutting corners, I am not too concerned about comments from that member.
As far as not being concerned about comments from this or any other member, what's with the preceding manifesto on why you do things the way you do them? I called you on this because you put it out there for anyone to tear apart. Next time, you may want to try and keep it a little LITE.
