Re: Obamanation here today

I bet it worked both ways though. That some white democrats didn't vote for Obama because he was black.
It happens, you always get that little percentage of people.
Face the true facts though: McCain was way too old to run the country.
And, I guess you can call that another "racist issue" too.

McCain was younger than Reagan. This is America, racism is legal here. You can't outlaw peoples thoughts. So what if people didn't vote for obama because he is black or mccain because they thought he was too old?

This is America, eh ?
You wanna know the most democratic country in the world ?
It's Switzerland !
You just don't vote for the "ruler or president", but also on every issue.
Like seatbelt law, or drinking age, or joining the EU, etc.
People vote seperatly on issues that affect them personally.

We are even better off then America, we can start a new party and get elected. We have several parties to chose from.
And, every expense a goverment senator, or politician makes, is a public record.
It's online for all of us to view.
We have an auditor general in place too, and a tax payers foundation, over looking every single dime spent on our tax dollars.
And , a report is made how useless or how good tax dollars were spent.
I can go online now, looking how much my local govermant spent, or how much he/she spent on dining last month.
It's our money (tax payers money), and we have a right to see where it's going.!
Not in the USA though.

We recently (canadian goverment), gave facebook a run for it's money, for not abiding our privacy rules. The whole world applaud Canada. Even Americans, but only the ones that really follow world politics.
This was just 3 days ago. Thats democracy here, not that fake crap you think you have.

How much did they spend on their military?

How much did they spend on their military?

I tell you one thing, like most europeans countries, they have a miltary draft for every single person living there. Man or woman.

You put in 100 random people from Europe to fight 100 random US citizens. Americans won't stand a chance.

But, yes, Americans have enough fire power to blow up the world probably 3 times over. Which is totally overspending.

As for your challenge why only 100 US citizens ? Why not 100 non-citizens here illegally ? Either way, I choice 100 gang bangers from Detroit.
( because by the young age of 15 they are already combat hardened ).

Klein does have one point that I do agree with--compulsory military service. I think every male who is not pursuing a secondary education should serve 2 years in the military.

Why just every male? I feel that woman are equal to men, and should be included in any compulsory military service.

I also do not agree that secondary education should get you out of compulsory service. This only promotes "seperation of the classes".
No rich kids would have to serve.

under bho's plan everyone would have to do not military service but community service, kind of like everyone being forced to join ACCORN.

I strongly disagree, I think the military is much better for being an all volunteer force, rather than filled with people who would not have joined if given the choice.

Over, these are both excellent points and I debated these in my head while typing my post and, now that I think about it, I would have to agree with you on the part about women also serving but would disagree on the secondary education point, although your argument about separation of the classes does have a lot of merit. I will take my own children as examples. My daughter was an excellent student who went straight to colllege and, after a year of teaching, is in grad school working toward her masters degree. I think compulsory service in her case would have been a disservice. My son, on the other hand, is an average student who also went straight to college but chose instead to party on Mommy and Daddy's dime. He is now living at home with me and paying for college himself (it's amazing how much more seriously they take it when they are paying for it themselves!) and doing quite well. Compulsory military service would have done him a world of good. It would have provided him with the structure and discipline he does not possess.

It may have done him some good (or not), but why is it the military's job to straighten out your kid? The question is not whether compulsory military service would be a good or bad for your individual child but whether we should be using the military as an extended high school experience at all. That's not why have/need a military. I don't think that your son should have been forced to serve any more than the military should have been forced to take him. Keep in mind also that the military is funded by the taxpayers, and that compulsory military service would increase it's size and cost exponentially.

Re: Obamanation here today

If I hate B.O. as a president, it's not because of the color of his skin.....It's because he has no experience except with the crime ridden city if Chicago. He's destroying my country. He's spending more than God. He's a liar and all the hope & change he promised a year ago is not exactly what his supporters had in mind and now they are too proud to admit they were wrong.

More, as always, given a pass to the previous Adm with all their so called "experience", broke MY country and left it in dire repair....so bad, probably a two term fixer upper....

thats a cop out and meant to be a distraction to put Obamas critics back on their heels. Nothing more.

The democratic party should be deeply embarrassed that so many members of their party would resort to such cheap theatrics to stifle honest debate on the issues.

It just reinforces my point that the the biggest racists have always been on the liberal side of the fence.

Before the nomination of RNC Richard Steele, the GOP felt the need to inject a little "Hip-Hop" into their swagger.....lol....how bout some "dancing Latino's", "mariachi band's", and some "fried rice"....

klein, I voted for McCain and I'm white.
I didn't vote for barry soetoro because he had no experience; first term senator, no military experience, while McCain had experience and military service and many years of public service.
I always vote local & nationally for anyone who is old / retired because its called respecting your elders. Going back to the tribal level rarely did a young person be made chief, because quite frankly no one wanted a fool for their leader.

Calling our youth and prime age Americans, "fools", is disengenuis BABa. If it was up to "old school" elected officials, issues such as women's rights/voting priviledges and civil rights would have come at a much later date. As far as McCain, he was computer illiterate, confusing the Shiates with the Sunis, confusing the Iranian's with the Iraq'uis. John needed a turncoat handler named Liberman to elbow him in the side with every blooper, and worse of all, chose Sarah Palin as is running mate......Sure, everybody should be respectful your elders, but as far as politics everyone should react to their own individual beliefs. If your Grandpa was a lifelong democrat, does that mean your going to vote Democrat all your life? In your case BaBa, I think not, but unfortunately, alot of people are products of their enviroment.....This day an age, I wouldn't neccessarily compare Americans with Tribunal rituals, with spears, taboo tatoo's and bones pierced thru our noses worshipping a village chief. We need leaders that are in touch with today's technology and future generational inevidable changes.....

This is America, eh ?

Klein, I have to agree with Baba on this one...
Democracy is government by and for the majority people. Republics is, government limited by constitution or charter. For example, Gay marriage lost it's amendment bid in California, but eventually, in the not to distant future, will be ruled unconstitutonal in our civil law process and will pass even though majority voters are homophobes.....Another example women and blacks...

As far as I know Sir Richard Steele was never a member of the RNC. Perhaps you were referring to Michael Steven Steele the current RNC chairman? Was there a racist reason you felt the need to make him a "richard"?....:)

Got to shake your head sometimes, eh ?
So is the Peoples Republic of China. And what do you think the "R" stood for in USSR ?
CSSR samething. FDR Germany, every country that is independent is a Republic.
Canada isn't one of them, (We are still a Monarchy). Don't mean nothing, it's just a title.
But almost every other country you can think of is: Like France, Switzerland, Austria, even Iraq, Iran).

We're still bound in servitude (complusary taxation) to pay for it all. What a deal, slave labor to earn the tax revs for the gov't to buy our and the enemies weapons and then send off our first born to fight their corp. wars and die via the very bullet we bought and paid for. Isn't it wonderful to have a gov't so precise on planning that they even plan and provide for our own enemy to be killed or be killed by!

One should be so blessed to have such an intervening gov't to operate on our behalf. Here's a Scahill piece called "Flushing Blackwater"

:happy-very::peaceful:

BTW D, the prophecy still has some legs as we all know the best jobs program is a uniform and a gun!

I'm not making an argument, there's no argument to be made here. You either share in Louis Pritchett's delusions ( I strongly suspect that in addition to his other ravings, he's a "birther"), or you don't.
The man says he's lived under 13 presidents, and now all of a sudden he's terrified? There's only one really noticeable difference between Obama and his predecessors, and it's pretty obvious that's really the thing that scares poor, terrified Mr Pritchett.

Blatant socialism?
the ease with which he spent 3 trillon dollars?
Check back over the Bush administration: the Republican congress spent money like drunken sailors, and the Prez didn't veto a single one of their appropriation or tax bills. One reason the deficit looks so large now is that Pres. Obama has brought a lot of Bush deficit spending onto the books, out of the dark corners where the previous administration hid it.

Michele wearing shorts and slapping queens on the back?
The Queen loved Michelle, and why the hell would you care if she wears shorts?

scripted townhall meetings?
Unlike the ones Pres Bush ran, where the only way to get a ticket was to be a Bush Ranger? Where even wearing a t-shirt the goons didn't like got your butt thrown out? Where the 'protest parks' were set up so far away that Pres Bush couldn't see them?

Setting up a white house snitch line?
As opposed to turning the FBI and NSA loose on every conversation held by Americans? Without warrants of any kind?

Official white house spammers?
Rather than 'journalists' who were given WH Press Passes, but who turned out to be paid shills? With scripted questions?

Moving hard core terrorists to freedom via our court system?
Just like the Blind Sheik, who ran 1993 Twin Towers attack, Eric Rudolf, the handsome white Christian who loved to dynamite people and clinics he didn't like, Timothy McVeigh and his buddy? Our Justice System worked for them. Don't see why it won't work for others. I laugh hysterically when 'patriots' who LOVE OUR COUNTRY are afraid to let our country follow its own Constitution.

A country run by a teleprompter.
This is so ludicrous it merits guffaws. Every professional politician uses teleprompters. Watching Pres. Obama ad lib makes it clear that he has a command of oratory and grammar, unlike his predecessor, who regularly mangled the English language.

Suppression of political debate by crying racist?
Why do you hate Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh so?

Oh heck I'm out of Ideas:happy-very:
I have nothing to add to that...

Re: Obamanation here today

My Comments are in GREEN. Mr. Pritchett scares me because his comments are so out of touch with reality, and yet I know he is sincere.

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA
from a Proctor & Gamble exec.

Dear President Obama:
You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.
You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

I don't know how much more information you need; the man wrote two books and has been thoroughly investigated by the great Clinton Machine, not to mention the RNC. What else do you need to know?

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support.
He got a scholarship; unlike GWB, who got into Yale and Harvard as a legacy. And his wife worked for a living, as a lawyer.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.
Neither did Arnold Schwarzenegger, and yet, there was talk of a Constitutional Amendment to allow him to run for president.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.
So what? Looking at the wreckage of the American Economy left by the 'titans of industry' running large corporations, I wouldn't consider this a minus.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core.
So what? I have the utmost respect for the military, but if we want every one of our politicians to have that experience, we should make a constitutional amendment that requires that. And if you consider the time that GWB 'served' in the Texas Air National Guard to be military experience, you are delusional.
You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others.
I haven't seen any evidence of this; in fact, I think President Obama has been very humble, and very classy, in the face of insults that no one since the Clintons have had to endure from the right-wing-hate machine.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.
If you mean Rev. Wright and that Ayers fellow, he has denounced them. As for people who wish to see America fail, let's start with Rush Limbaugh, et al, who only want America to succeed if elections go their way. Otherwise, not so much.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America ' crowd and deliver this message abroad.
America is a great country, which has accomplished great things in the world. It has also made huge mistakes and done evil in the name of 'manifest destiny'. Admitting mistakes is a good way to avoid making them again. Here's a mistake: the US provided Saddam Hussein with the chemical weapons he used against his own people. Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld worked with him because he was a 'good' dictator, meaning he was on our side. Here's another mistake: in 1953, the CIA helped the Shah of Iran overthrow a democratically elected government in Iran. Wonder why Iranians still don't trust us?

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.
You know what, as a citizen, I actually have a way to dump a government I don't agree with. It's called an election. The Constitution limits what the government can do.
On the other hand, I have NO CONTROL WHATSOEVER over corporations. There are no Constitutional restraints on corporations. There is no freedom of speech, or expectation of privacy. We have turned control of the government over to corporations because of our insane election financing laws. The individual doesn't have a chance when there is a conflict with the special interests.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.
No, he doesn't. And our current health care system is dysfunctional and unsustainable, not to mention a huge drag on the US economy, and the profitibility of US companies, making them uncompetitive in the global market.

You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.
The US has 3% of the world's oil reserves, and burns 25% of the world's oil energy. Coal is plentiful, but the dirtiest form of energy there is. We need research to make it viable for the long term. In the meantime, renewable energy lets us stretch out oil, coal, and gas for use in the future. Why burn oil or gas when you can use the sun or the wind?

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world.
No, he doesn't, and the CEO's and Wall Street barons have done a real number on killing the capitalist goose by completely discrediting capitalism as a functioning system.

You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations.
Whereas GWB only used extortion tactics against the telcoms, who didn't want to let him eavesdrop on every conversation in America without warrants.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.
Please see GWB and Republican congresses 2000-2006.
You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.
That's why he has two Republicans in his cabinet, and put his strongest political rival in a key cabinet position, Secretary of State, where she could wreak havoc on his foreign policy if she chose to.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.
This statement is simply ludicrous, unless Mr. Pritchett has a telepathy machine.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.
Unlike when the press let the previous administration lead us into a bogus war, and actions that gutted the Constitution, because they were afraid to be called 'unpatriotic'?

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view.
Since these people are excellent examples of hatefilled, racemongering trolls, I wouldn't claim them as shining examples of Conservatism. I wouldn't try to silence them, and consider any 'Fairness Doctrine' to be unconstitutional. But anyone who considers these goons to be rational members of a democracy, discussing issues in a rational way, is, well, irrational.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.
This is an assertion, with nothing to back this up.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.
This sentence doesn't even make sense to me.

Lou Pritchett
