Hang in there until you are 62 and a half and you can add another 2k a month to that. (Or has that 62 1/2 age changed)?

It goes by the best 35 years of your earnings adjusted for inflation

I plan on collecting SS at 62 for sure. Likely still won’t need to tap the 401k even at that point.

Not to mention that you can't touch that 401k til you're almost 60. Not sure how much more you could make without a pension and just a contractual 401k match than you could with a pension plus doing your own 401k

I usually tell people to not draw SS until they are 70 --------------just so they don't get into my piece of the pie.

How many kids do you have? Insurance covered the largest portion of braces for our three kids. We were only on the hook for between $1200 and $1500 each.
