So a short article printed on page 64 of Newsweek in 1975, where the author later came out and admitted they were wrong, proves what exactly?

It was kind of the fad of the time.

Fair enough, but even in the first sentence of the first article

“The world's climate is changing. Of that scientists are firmly convinced. But in what direction and why are subjects of deepening debate.”

And just after

“The first half of this century has apparently been the warmest period since the “hot spell” between 5,000 and 7,000 years ago immediitely following the last ice age. That the climate, at least in the Northern Hemisphere, has been getting cooler since about 1950, is well estabt lished—if one ignores the last two winters.

It had been forecast by some specialists that last winter would be exceptionally cold, but as all ice skaters know, it was unusually mild in the New York area. In Boston it was the warmest in 22 years and in Moscow it was the second warmest in 230 years.”

And we now continue to beat those records at alarming rates

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

It’s all BS, that’s the point. Poor gullible child.

It's actually not BS, can't be.

To be gullible is to think that man can pull from the earth billions, if not trillions, of barrels of crude oil,

....countless tons of coal,

....that took millions and millions of years to form,

....then burn it all over the course of a couple hundred years,

....releasing enormous amounts of CO² on top of natural occurrences like volcananic eruptions and geothermal activity, etc.

....while thinking it won't have any effect on the climate.

But hey, don't worry, perhaps the earth will repair itself in several millions.

Because trees and the oceans don’t absorb it? Lol. Climate change is a scam. To think humans can do anything about it is the height of arrogance. Millions of years to repair it? 🤣

They will likely reabsorb it,

....but not just trees after they grow back, but also many other kinds of plant life that created fossil fuels to begin with.

....as well as marine life after it redevelopes,

....and has several million years to rebalance what was forced askew in a few hundred years.

It's really just a drop in the bucket in the history of the planet, so let's burn it all as fast as we can!!!

One small example of the push. Schools were teaching the earth-solid block ice theory by then. Of course there had to be plenty of tap dancing later on when they all changed to global warming, then when that didn't happen, it became climate change, which can mean anything you want it to mean.

Let be fair and balance. Will we run out of stuff? No, energy neither created nor destroyed. It just changes from one form to another. It takes billion years for earth to create these natural resources that we use. To recreate them, it may take billions more years only if the conditions to create them happen again. We can't afford to sit and wait. Actually, we could go back to the stone-age while we wait.

On the other hand, this earth will be like Venus in 5 billion years. The universe does not care if we end life on earth later or sooner.
