The Faiths of the Founding Fathers fell into three religious categories:

1. The smallest group, founders who had left their Judeo-Christian heritages and become advocates of the Enlightenment religion of nature and reason called "Deism". These figures included Thomas Paine and Ethan Allen.

2. The founders who remained practicing Christians. They retained a supernaturalist world view, a belief in the divinity of Jesus Christ, and an adherence to the teachings of their denomination. These founders included Patrick Henry, John Jay, and Samuel Adams. Holmes also finds that most of the wives and daughters of the founders fell into this category.

3. The largest group consisted of founders who retained Christian loyalties and practice but were influenced by Deism. They believed in little or none of the miracles and supernaturalism inherent in the Judeo-Christian tradition. Holmes finds a spectrum of such Deistic Christians among the founders, ranging from John Adams and George Washington on the conservative right to Benjamin Franklin and James Monroe on the skeptical left.
The Faiths of the Founding Fathers - Wikipedia

Our country was formed on the belief of freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion. The cornerstone of their founding principles was not to eliminate religion in government, but to prohibit the establishment of a governing religion.

Enlightened Christians use the Bible as a source of wisdom to guide their lives, not to direct every decision they make.

Hopefully your enlightenment is imminent. Perhaps tolerance and temperateness would then follow.

Yep JJinVa would most definitely love it in Poland and it continues to fall under Putin's control. He might find it pleasing to see others having to bow to and live under the rule of a totalitarian regime. Trouble is....he has to live under it as well.

Spot on man. The Right has offered nothing but fear. No platform, no specific proposals, just "be afraid...be very afraid".
Meanwhile, cities are burning and being destroyed by riots as cops are told to stand down and the left doesn't see a problem with it.

With MAGAts claiming the US government was founded as a christian nation, it almost mandates that we would have government helping to feed the hungry. The people chose, through representatives they elected, to use government services to feed the hungry of the nation.

And you ONLY do what the bible instructs, nothing beyond. Does the bible instruct you to drive a car, or use a microwave oven???? Your comments are just stupid, sorry to put it so bluntly.

You have no idea how stupid you sound right now.

BUT DOES THE BIBLE TELL YOU TO USE A MICROWAVE????

I live in the suburbs of one of Trump's "anarchist" cities. Other than almost nightly demonstrations (some violent), it's life as usual. 98% (or more) of the city is untouched and functioning normally. I'm guessing Shill Boy lives in Memphis or some similar crap city where real "Muricans mind their P's and Q's and worship the lies Trump spouts. I'll bet the average officer in the South or Mid-South makes peanuts compared to a major Left Coast city, and probably doesn't like "the coloreds" much. I've spent enough time down that way to see the way a lot of folks think, and it isn't very open-minded. What's really killing "downtown" is Covid-19, and Trump's abject failure(s) at dealing with the virus, among other massive screw-ups.

Do the cops have their hands tied? Not really, but many are leaving for other agencies, which they might regret since a lot of them are making 150k+. A few make a lot more. And, yes, they could probably use some realignment, especially when it comes to pay and their attitudes towards minorities.

Keep on being gullible. Fred and Trump both appreciate it.

"Aside from the nightly mostly non-violent nightly uprisings..."

LOL. "I drove through the south once and stopped at Stuckey's and let me tell you, I know all about the south!"

I'm staying way up past my bedtime, depriving myself of desperately needed beauty sleep, living in a nice city where we don't have the kind of trash causing the kind of problems that are in your area. It's a rough life.

Even liberal studies showed over 500 violent riots in a matter of 3 months by these BLM losers.

That's isolated?
You're brainwashed by the leftist trash you consume.
What is proof of brainwashing is idiotic claims that cities are beying destroyed by left wing protesters or riots. FOX told you that, and you were gullible enough to believe it.

The FAA is socialist- the air should be open to all with no restriction. That is how stupid cries and whines that feeding the poor is socialism sounds to sane people.

Government overreach!! Boots on my neck!! Don't tread on me!! Yep, the FAA is a perfect example of why we need government regulation, because corporations, left to their own devices, will always choose profit over safety and ethics.

Just ask Boeing.

The first time I was in Memphis we counted 6 cars on blocks that had been stripped. Such a scenic, beautiful town. Over the many years since, I spent quite a bit of time there. Ramp agent, DG, doubles (Blytheville), Safe Driving etc, so yeah, I've seen a bit. Witnessed some blatant racism, especially in Blytheville, and really, truly, consider Memphis and it' s surrounding(s) a dump Hell.
