Don't be fooled by the DOW, all wall street is is full of greed and lies, unless you are in the know on wall steet, you have no chance, remember 20% of the people who own stock in the NYSE hold 80% of the wealth, think you have a fair chance?
The big thing about the DOW hitting 10k is that it's a psychological hurdle. More people will start to see it as an encouraging sign that the economy is improving and that it's time for them to get back into the investing game -- Never mind that the DOW's high water mark was 11.5k.
Many people are run by emotion, not logic. Companies financials may be turning to solid $ reporting, but the momentum of a climbing DOW is what's going to trigger them.
When you go to work on Monday look around you and ask your co-workers how much richer they are because of all there stock market plays. Then ask them how much they lost the last 2-3 years thanks to wall streets lies.
