2% raise in October

Keep up folk. There is a "hold" on the mandate for employers. Can't see Fred messing with the insurance. That's why over 90% of the part timers work here.
Plus if he gave a "rats" about us, with the amount of employees, he could get us better "group" insurance. Please explain how UPS doesn't pay for jack ... no co-pay, nada, nil, nothing?
I agree if FedEx wants to move to more of a part time work force it doesn't make sense to take away that incentive.

Pay the penalty? That would make 0 sense. Obamacare does not effect companies that are self insured. Tell your SM he's an idiot.

You are right, but then corporations look to twist things their way to take things away. Just a general observation of corporate trends. I believe your Traditional Pension takeaway was reasoned around laws that were created to protect citizens from the likes of what Enron did. See how that turned out?

If anyone wants to see where fedex has gone lately, read Fedex2000 history of posts here. There was a whole dictatorial tone back in 2011 concerning reviews and what you got is what you deserve etc...the power seems to be out of everyones hands now. There's always the buyout...

My Hubby will get an increase of 52 cents per hour, and I will get 34 cents. I feel like I'm running up the down escalator! I knew I would never see top of scale before I retire, but I didn't realize I would keep sliding backwards.

Well since there is no review anymore, yeah, my "tone" is different now......and neither you or I have any say in regards to raises etc.

Your source isn't as good as you think then.....there will be two options.

Just going on what my mgr told me. If 2 options great. He also believes my station will be shut down in 2-3 years and we'll have a mostly part-time workforce. He was nice enough to tell me about the 2% raise too. Whether he's right or you are right it's almost certain our choices will be reduced while our premiums go up. I don't see a reason to keep working here anymore for people who think just having a job is a good enough incentive to stay.

The word hasn't gotten out to most of the stations, but I let them in on it. Honestly, what better way to drive a stake between the ones getting the raise and the ones that are not. I would prefer NOT to get a raise, than to have the others not get one as well. WTH? Trust, there are quite a few handlers talking about doing a "sick out", since their services are not valued. Way to go Fred, way to go.

I don't know about the figure in % terms regarding our Oct raise yet. Our senior said that get's rolled out with the benefits. We get to go through another meeting with some wench that is sent to us by Memphis....just like that time with our pension. I didn't believe what she said then(and I was spot on)and I won't believe what this one says either. They just repeat what they are told to say and can rarely answer any substantive questions, but I will make her as uncomfortable as I can either way.

The whole discussion of a "raise" is irrelevant, because the net effect of their overall program will be a reduction in take-home pay, Your net income will be reduced no matter what. The question you need to ask management is "What will my total compensation package be?" They can cut the already crappy PPP, they can reduce minimums, they can raise specialist co-pays to $100, or cut the dental from 50% to 40%. How about eliminating Tuition Refund? Everybody has a different way that Fred can take an additional "something" away. And he will. Change your focus to what the man behind the curtain is really doing. That 2% means nothing if you're losing 5% elsewhere. You will be screwed again...count on it.

At least you can get a hat! I've been asking for two months for one! They said I can pay for one myself but there's no budget for uniforms. Yeah right!

We had a guy(bald) ask for hat and they told him the same thing, no money for hat. So one day he brings a dark blue Nike hat. The SM said, you know you cant wear that hat. The courier said, "Doctor said I must wear cover on my head, with my fair skin I could get a melanoma." Guess what? he got his new hat. Imagine if that courier gets skin cancer on his head and he has documentation with his doctor that his employer not only refused to provide a hat but forbid him from wearing his own? Now imagine the huge settlement. I'd say go to you doctor and let him/her know your job has you in the sun for over 9 hours a day and will not let you wear cover on your head.
