20k DOW vs BITCOIN

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
I actually would equate crypto will straight up gambling right now. I think that's a fine comparison.

Again, that's all good, and people get rich as :censored2: betting/playing cards, and golf, and prop betting for cash, but it's a zero-sum endeavor, and someone is always on the losing end of that gain of wealth by the victor - just like crypto trading, or stocks, or other investment vehicles in general.

I'm willing to ante up, but I'm aware that it's not exactly informed investing, and it's more like a lottery ticket with slightly better odds of winning.
Nah the difference is gambling is literally win it all or lose it all.

You can do things like set stop losses that greatly reduce your risk trading.

Yeah, I agree. Although you could say that it's kind of semantics to nitpick what I said about it being a gamble.

Obviously you stop the bleeding, but you're still cut.

What market place do you use that lets you set stops?
You can use the 'market place' in your head obviously.

Observe the price, when it gets to a certain level or below, you exit your position.

I dunno if he's on a site that allows him to set it and they execute the moves though, which was obviously your question.

Coinbase pro lets you set stops. Obviously not a ton of coins available to trade but the big boys are there.

Until recently limit orders were free (no fees) also. That was nice. You could work with really small percentages and not worry about fees eating away at profits.

Robinhood let's you do stops and limit orders. It's all free, but it's like a standard financial account you gotta give em all your info, and they only have the major cryptos.

The app is a really well designed way to lose money. Plus, it's not just for crypto, you can blow all your money on buying individual stocks too!

On a state by state basis for crypto but I think it’s available in most states now.

If you're one of the .5% of people who can successfully pick individual stocks and beat the market, you should immediately retire from UPS and invest all your time into doing that - you're costing yourself a small fortune by wasting 10+ hours per day driving that truck for $100 grand a year.

But since you're definitely not one of those people, you should shut the front door on the conversation about earning your 'billions' through free trades on Robinhood, and go get some shut eye for the long hard day ahead, schlepping packages for Big Brown, and being :censored2: on by low level management with the brain power and temperament of a longhorn with mad cow's disease.

That is your real reality. Just as the fact that you will rely on social security when you retire, not because you'll particularly need it to live, but because you will not be filthy rich, and like the rest of us here you will be on a fixed income - you will enjoy that SS, and you will have it earmarked for expenses, and you will be glad it's there - just like you will with medicare - you :censored2:ing closet socialist, wannabe :censored2:.

Stop lying to yourself.

Calm down sourpuss, I was being sarcastic.
Your rage at the idea of someone succeeding beyond you highlights your political beliefs well. Broke bitches can’t stand for someone to dream even for a second.

Seriously all my life I dealt with people with that mentality. Even my first thread on this site was full of people telling me I wouldn’t make it as a driver.

Don’t worry I’ll remember you when I make my billions, I’ll even get your sourpuss current event novel published.

"I'd be so much better off if I just got to invest my money and didn't have to pay into SS", said every idiot ever.

Yes, maybe you would, but maybe you would not. Maybe you would lose it all, getting greedy and having too much risk late in your working years or maybe you would invest it unwisely on your own, trying to pick individual stocks, or venturing into an vehicle you were ill-informed and ill-equipped to be in, and you lost it all.

This is why it's called Social Security, and not government investment plan - you put in your 7.65%, and your employer matches that 7.65%, and then 45 years down the road from when you started, you have a monthly benefit that is COLA for that time period, for the rest of the days of your life NO MATTER WHAT.

This is a security net. This is not for covering your total financial well-being in retirement. It is a social wellness tax, not an government investment vehicle or a huge index fund. Think of it and treat that money taken from your gross earnings as such.

We are still well off enough, as FT employees at UPS, to invest pretty heavily, even after we've contributed to our 401k and paid living expenses. This is your chance to make gains in the market, and you have a wonder headstart at that, with access to discounted stock from a dividend paying blue chip company - UPS, among any other number of investments or interest yielding bonds or accounts you might have or want to get involved with. Crypto perhaps?

Go get 'em. You should have several hundred dollars per week to invest, if you're living within your means, and planning ahead for an early retirement or a late retirement with a fortune banked - this means sacrificing the second brand new car and the mcmansion, for the nice used car that's paid for, and a house that doesn't make you poor - now, in the present day...or later, because you couldn't invest for retirement and you banked on all your wealth being in your home - a very risky proposition as we learned in 2008. No guarantees anymore.

Dreamers can dream. But you've still got to live in the real world.

Are you printing them now? No one even wants to read it once, why are you posting your novels twice?

No, I’m pretty sure if we didn’t live in a society I would bash your head in with a rock and take your stuff. That’s the closest I’ll ever get to crushing on you.
That would be quite the opposite.

The scenario you see playing out in your head wouldn't go down like dat.

I'd take your rock, bash it off the side of my own head until it bled, while laughing intermittently and screaming "this is how we do it in America"! and "this how we do it in my neighborhood"!

Then I'd drop that rock, and the real fun would begin. I'd beat the :censored2:ing snot out of your skinny conservative Tucker Carlson wannabe ass, and pummel you until you begged to go down on Hillary Clinton, but that would be just the start.

I'd drag you kicking and screaming up and down the street introducing you to my friends and neighbors, and let them take a shot at you, probably kick you a few times myself, for good measure.

Then I'd put you on a bus to the projects with a special sign around your neck, that told all my black brothers there about your deeply held beliefs and strong convictions - I'm sure they'd take you in and tend to your wounds - they're a very nurturing population in the hood, especially toward a young conservative gay man. They'd take care of you nice.

You :censored2:ing pusillanimous-fa**ot.
(That is not a slur, it is an inside joke, albeit one that you are not in on - rest assured I'm not homophobic. In fact, I initially signed up here to verbally bitch slap @TheBrownFlush for his gay slurs and homophobia, then I stuck around to :censored2: :censored2: up and run game.)

Why are you insinuating poor black people are violent and homophobic? Why do you back track on your own homophobia? Grow a spine and own who you’re as a person, no one cares.

I was just kidding about bashing your head in with a rock, I was thinking of a situation I’d be crushing on you in.

You just went full blown hate crime fantasy on me based off my political views and sexualities.
