24/7 operations

Exactly what I thought also.

Biden just spewing crap to make it seem like he can do something?

I do find it funny they’re supposed to be all for the workers but it sounds like the “plan” is just to try and expand the hours the trucking industry works.

Yeah that’ll work. Record number of people quitting their jobs. Let’s work those left harder.

Its propoganda because the mask is slipping

I would really like some clarification on what the point of this is. UPS, FedEx and Walmart are already 24/7 operations. The only thing we could do is start delivering Sundays. We can’t deliver overnight. Tractor trailers are already 24/7.

I’m truly confused as to what they (government) expect? What, do they want UPS feeders to start delivering loads to Target and Walmart that normally other trucking companies would do?

I read this whole article and it doesn’t explain how these UPS, FedEx, Walmart etc. can do anything more than they are already doing.
The California ports are going to be running 24/7 and UPS is one of the companies to help transport loads. We all know UPS will give all the work to contractors so there will be minimal impact to hourlies.

I agree completely. This is nothing more than Corporate Happy Talk. I am a little afraid we will be a target when the inevitable shortages happen. Biden could be setting UPS up to be a scapegoat...

UPS is already a 24/7 operation. Asking companies to go 24/7 will just increase prices even more because of the extra payroll, overtime and benefits these companies will have to pay off. The supply chain problem is a direct consequence of Biden’s terrible economic policies, such as paying people more to stay home on unemployment then to go get jobs. 10,000,000 open jobs in this country and jobless claims rose again last week and dumping trillions into the economy causing record inflation. Of course like always he blames private companies other than himself. Of the top 500 ports in the world for efficiency the US has NOT ONE port on that list. We’re not automated, not modernized and they don’t run 24/7 most importantly though these docks have to pay absolutely outrageous wages and benefits to union workers. Longshoremen make like 175k a year with a full benefit package and the docks are hindered by contractual obligations that stop them from being the most efficient. Until you fix that working 24/7 won’t do a thing. It’s the same thing that happened to the domestic steel industry in the 70s and 80s, gouged by unions and unable to keep up with competition.

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
Why? The Democratic Party doesn't give two :censored2:s about middle-class workers. They care about allowing millions of immigrants in, mandatory vaccines and what bathroom you can use depending on what gender you feel like being that day.

The most interaction Lunchbox Joe has with his union constituency is playing golf with the NEA.
Well duh but if there’s a party that claims to be for us it’s the dems
