If you get walked out for refusing to work as directed your BA might be able to get your job back providing you hang your head and act humble but you won't be getting any back pay. When you get your job back with back pay you can smile at your center manager and OCS

Text Messages are not an approved form of start time notification.Work as directed.
You can only refuse to work as directed if unsafe or unethical. When you get your job back with back pay you can smile at your center manager and OCS

In this specific instance I would agree with you, but as a general rule telling people that they don't have to WAD if they think it violates the contract is terrible advice. It is a moot point in this case since text messages are not an approved form of start time notification. Also he wasn't given 24 hour notice.
Just respond you never received the text. Leave it at that.i never replied. im mostly worried about repercussions. our upper management as im sure any other hubs management team is very vindictive and bend and break the rules to benefit them. i just wanted to make sure i needed a 24 hour notice before showing up at preload start time.
