The sand/gravel roads in Michigan are awesome to drive on, tbh. Many gravel roads are better cared for, than the pavement.
Of course, Michigan is a very poor state.

Giordano’s sucks....albeit I only ate at one location once...but it was really disappointing.
Gino’s East is much better. Lou Malnati’s was good also.
