Gonna have to disagree on that.

Popular vote:
Obama 2008 69,476,897
Obama 2012 65,915,795
Clinton 2016 65,844,954
Gonna have to come up with a better answer, I think you need to look deeper. I'll give you a hint where to begin.
How many elected Senate seats and House seats, federal and statewide were lost during Obama's reign? Please quote an answer to both questions, we can work from that point.
What were the state by state vote counts? Even go down to county by county, the urban centers had decreased turnout while the sticks had higher turnout. Top line numbers don't tell the whole story, nice try.

The senate and electoral college both have a strong rural bias where the uneducated country folk are gaining an outsized influence over politics. That and gerrymandering have lead to democrats needing dramatic vote advantages to gain back proportionate representation.

Answer my question first if you want to move along with me. I'm trying to educate you.

No you're not. Make whatever point you think is persuasive. Misleading total vote counts absent context are not persuasive.
You wouldn't answer the question,Clinton's vote total wasn't down measurably, the three election cycles showed a decline. Got that? From a liberal rag, I offer this as an answer to the question I posed, which you refused to answer.

The decimation of the Democratic Party, visualized. My point of attack is aimed at these statetements:

and democratic voters didn't show up.

Vote totals prove this to be an incorrect statement. Did the numbers decline successively in three presidential elections? The answer would be, Yes.
The question should be , Why,? if one truly wants to know the answer.

There was no groundswell of support for Trump's agenda.

There was enough for Trump to defeat sixteen republican hopefuls, and one democratic challenger, namely H Clinton to win the presidency. Enough voters, whatever their stripes deemed Trump's course more palatable. In three three successive elections, democrats and independents have left democratic ideology, and in the last election embraced Trump's platform. That is truth, your side can't accept it, hence the manifestation of Mueller. Try your best.

This kinda breaks down when you factor in Trump got fewer votes than Romney and McCain. Fewer people voted overall. Two historically bad candidates will do that. More citizens support the democrats and their policies. Those citizens are outweighed by geography. Republicans aren't winning by strength of the argument, they are winning by exploiting the rules of the system.

I love how you call the constitution the rules of the system. The electoral college was provided so every region and state would have a voice in choosing the president of the United States. You have absolutely no concept why the founders laid out this system, as close to perfection as man can make pertaining to casting votes.

Fewer people voting in my mind is a vote... no confidence in anyone running. Among casted votes Trump won, and he carried blue states to become president. You lost, deal with it.
