Assuming a 100% infection rate.

Italy is floundering horribly.
But they are still at a 0.11% infection rate.

Don't let emotion cloud your critical thinking skills.

Trying to clean up after Crazy Uncle Rick’s inaccuracies is like trying to clean up behind a rhinoceros with diarrhea. Just gonna keep coming and be wet and messy the whole time.

A 90 year old born in 1930 didn't fight in WWII. Their parents were the Greatest Generation. That being said my father is 81, mother 76. I want them to go gently from old age, not gasping for air. But before laying on the guilt today's 90 year olds are the parents of today's Boomers. They experienced the country's greatest era of prosperity and accumulated wealth. It was in the latter half of the Boomer generation that it became difficult to get raises and keep up with inflation as the economy changed to a service economy and manufacturing moved offshore. So don't tell all of us living paycheck to paycheck for decades how little we've sacrificed. What should be focused on right now is getting past this virus and keeping the middle class intact. Otherwise we will know misery unlike any period since the Great Depression if not the Civil War.
What is considered to be the Greatest Generation are those born from 1910 -1924 but there are still many of them alive but in poor health. But after growing up in the Depression fighting the bloodiest conflict in human history plus many fought the smaller scale but equally bloody Korean War and some even went to Vietnam plus the Cold War the mere suggestion that some should be left to die suffocated by a lung eating viral infection with no effort to save them and no reason than for the fact that it would better serve the economy is appalling.

What does this say about the generation charged with the responsibility of preserving the greatest civilization mankind has ever known yet advocates this type of barbaric behavior ? When they reach the final stages of their lives will they accept being treated in a similar manner?

FFS you're such a drama queen.
Suggesting high risk people quarantine rather than shutting down the whole country is just common sense. Something you clearly lack.

That's an interesting comment given that just a few weeks ago you cluckers were crowing about COVID-19 being nothing but another form of seasonal flu.

Instead of trusting his own intelligence reports that the Chinese government was covering up the extent of the viral spread, the Washington Post reported, Trump instead chose to believe the notoriously dishonest President Xi Jinping of China, thanking Xi for his "transparency."

One does not lose or gain until they sell ... otherwise, it's just up or down.
Well yes. But a stark difference exists when one ponders Express explaining to you that your portable pension is a “notional” account, not actually funded. Just record keeping. Whereas your 401k is hard currency. And at the moment his is down 34,000 bucks from less than 2 weeks ago. Ouch

That has nothing to do with the post you responded to.

Here you go, I'll let you try again:

Trump followed the blueprint set up by Obama's pandemic response team. He coordinated with the WHO at the beginning of an outbreak.

Unfortunately, just like Obama, the WHO was China's bitch:

Bingo. Rush said it was "the common cold, folks", and all of the rest of them fell in line to MINIMIZE Covid-19. Now, the push is on to "get the USA back to work" despite overwhelming evidence that is incredibly stupid advice. Simply put, it's the new Right narrative, and it's just as idiotic and wrong as the first Covid-19 narrative.

It is NOT a push towards Communism, it is NOT a Chinese plot, and the US government does NOT have it "under control".

so ive seen 3 posts now from glen greenwald one quoting larry kudlow of the trump admin, 1 quoting cuomo, and one from the CEO of goldman sachs and it sounds like they are flirting with having people work anyways regardless of this virus.

unbelievable. a million americans will die for sure, and the hospitals will be overwhelmed. the corruption in america im sure is unmatched in the west.
Time to get it done. Let everyone get the flu and be done with it. Time to move on.
