It was close. CA. and Oregon were out west and 11 of the 13 colonies in the east. I think
Georgia and South Carolina came later.

I still got a few from when I started in 1975. They didn't add the last number in the year for some reason, I just know how old they are by the pay rate. They used to put your Social Security number on your ID too.

And not even in an envelope, passed out and anyone could see what you made

The first attempt at opening Germany failed because the Germans Always had a beer at lunch and wouldn’t give up that tradition so UPS pulled out. Once they realized that you have to honor a countries traditions they moved back in.
