Accident during probation

In our center we're instructed to block the entire driveway with our car. Don't let someone have half their drive then they'll try to get out almost every time. My car once broke down for 2 1/2 hours in front of a dude's house. He laughed it off, went inside and made a snack. He came out with half a sandwich and some chips for me along with a can of Coke. We shot the s* for a good half hour before he went back in and I took a nap in the back of the PC (this was early in the year, so not terribly hot outside) until the tow truck arrived.

Jeez man, you were not at fault for the accident but everything else could lead to a DQ. Get IDs, pictures, names, record it, call police...anything to cover your butt. If you are asked for info you need to be able to say it and show it. You are guilty till proven innocent at UPS.

I'm doing my second stop of the day. A NDA signiture required delivery at a residential area. I got there and parked the package car at the curb. Flashers on and mirror folded. I walk out with the package. See nobody. No cars starting up or running. I cross the street and rang the door bell a couple times. Waited for about a minute. No answer. Info notice NI1. Then I heard a loud bang. Turn around and just saw my truck sitting there thinking something heavy fell off the shelf. As I service cross the box and go around the truck, that's when I saw an old lady outside her car looking at the damages. She somehow made contact with the front bumper of the truck when she drove out of her driveway in reverse. The package car wasn't damage. But her Prius will require a new bumper since it struck right side. She did not argue or complain to me. She appears to feel guilty about it yet was in a rush to get to work.

I called the center immediately and talk to my manager. He told me to give her his number and for her to call him which I did and for me to continue my route. Here where things get messy. The lady and I both took pictures of the accident and exchange ID's, but both of us forgot to exchange phone numbers. Later in the evening my manager calls me and stated that she hasn't call him back. He tells me to give him the address where the incident occurred so he can go and see if she is there. I get a call again from him asking what the color the car was and he said he'll take care of it going forward.

Today I have the day off. So tomorrow I will hopefully find out if I'm DQ. This type of DQ would really suck because I did nothing wrong but know how UPS treats every accident like it's your fault. Not getting her number is my biggest :censored2: up. If the lady doesn't call him this thing could drag on. My manager said that he wants to talk to her and ask her how she wants to proceed going forward.

I hope you're in the western region. If so, Article 7 works great.

Only way outs inna box
This could very easily go under the table depending on how bad drivers are needed at your center will help your case. Just dont talk to anyone in the center about it.

And Yes i said under the table. How bad do you wanna be a driver?

Depends on if center Mgr is trying to hide the accident and yes they do. If he has to report it that’s not going to be good for you. Keep your mouth shut don’t say anything to anyone. You did your obligation and reported it and followed directions except for phone number. You may get lucky they probably need every swinging dick with peak coming up.

The person backed into your lawful park position.
Why are you going crazy that you're DQ'd ?????
Your supervisor sounds pretty normal and not blaming you.
Hold the :censored2: on. When’s the last time you had a normal center Mgr at ups? It’s been at least 15 years since I’ve seen one maybe 20

A HWP is probably the least serious kind of accident, ESPECIALLY if your mirrors were tucked, your flashers were on, and you were against a curb and not blocking driveway. Unless your center manager is a dick, or he has someone in mind other than you that he wants to fill your spot, you should be fine. I broke the sliding glass on my door with the seatbelt and got hit by a drunk driver (proved unavoidable) in my packet, they still passed me. Chill bra
I seriously haven’t seen one lately that wasn’t a dick is it just me?

Probation is a scary time. I got injured and got hit about 4 maybe 5 times (3 times in one day). Center manager swept everything under the table good but scary times

Mmm, Mombasa!
I did have a bigger truck. The only way I could think of how she'll hit the truck was reversing and turning right, instead of straight backing. My guess is that she never bother to check her mirrors. There was nothing to obstruct her view that she couldn't see a large brown truck. It was clear as daylight.
Better yet, how did she not see the truck walking out her front door to get into her car? Its hard to miss a big brown truck parked at your curb.

Wtf I went a whole 30 plus years and you’re telling me you did all this in 30 days? You can’t be serious

It will all depend on what evidence there is. Do you have an old yearbook management could use against you? Any mention of boofing or the Devil’s Triangle in it? Could be a problem if there is

Hit by 65 plus lady at a mental house camera showed me park get out of truck then look at lady walking to her car so I hopped back in truck and moved 10 plus feet backwards so she wouldn't back into me didn't help. Later that day 2 teens on dirt bikes thought it would be funny to kick the truck while they passed me second kid kicked it but jammed his leg and fell and later at night a dog came out off a yard and I rolled over him owners took full responsibility. So :censored2: probation ever since no incidents
