UPS pays top driver rate because most times there are more ground packages then air in the boxes. At least in my building.

Wow.... I am an air driver in my building and is panics me. I did not know they were cutting air drivers.

I've got a theory.


Cut all the costs you possibly can except wages. Come contract time cry that wages are now X percentage of your costs and it needs to be reigned in.

I don't believe that would fall under the exception rule for Air Drivers picking up ground. That would mean top driver rate. Unfortunately that cut you out.

They sometimes have air drivers close out large p/u accts. It sounds like the reg. driver is only doing an initial instead of waiting around to get all the ground.
