Biden pulled way over in line with Crazy Bernie and AOC during the early primaries. He talks about the Green Raw Deal all the time. She is the party now. Let her speak!

Looking at and considering certain aspects of the Green New Deal isn't a problem. Passing such a large ambitious plan as it is now would be stupid, but nobody thinks it's ever going to be implemented the way it is written. Getting off oil and replacing that with renewable resources is the future, why not pass it sooner than later and try to save this planet. Some other parts of the GND are pure nuts though. Biden has his own version of the GND, not the original with all of the craziness.

You can't get off oil until you come up with technologies that will replace it right away, not some ideas that might work decades from now. All for research and development. Hydrogen fuel cells seem to have promise. But get the infrastructure in place after certainty that it'll work or we could have a disaster.

Yes, of course we can't replace oil overnight. Even if we were willing to switch from oil to other alternatives, some alternatives for oil (in certain industries) either don't exist or are still in great need of research. Hydrogen fuel cells will never be much of a thing in cars with the acceptance of and advancement of batteries, but could be used for long distance travel is trucks. I'm not naive enough (like some certain young Democrat from New York) to think this can be done overnight, but at least look at it and do what we can with the technology we have.

Nissan has a nice small car that runs on hydrogen. Watched a video of it on YouTube a few days ago. Gets about the same distance on a tank as gas does. The advantage is you can fuel up in a couple of minutes and hydrogen is widely available to make fuel. Disadvantage is hydrogen fueling stations are few and almost all in California. I like hybrid cars but I know environmentalists can't stand the fossil fuel side of them. Comes down to battery technology and charging times. Was just reading a thread on another forum where a BP exec said that their shareholders want them to get away from fossil fuels and they were going to reduce their involvement in gas by 40% in the next 10 years. And invest in alternatives. That will be a big part of it, getting major oil companies to invest their resources in developing alternatives. Either that or they fight against everything but oil and hamper development.

Hydrogen was the future of automobiles before lithium ion batteries. Now there are a few manufacturers making a hydrogen car and every manufacturer making multiple electrics. With modern batteries creeping into the 300-400 mile range, it's becoming such a smaller issue to own only electric cars.

And I really don't think Exxon or Shell are just going to sit quietly and watch their entire business model go down the drains. BP has lost so much market share and have such a low approval since the Gulf disaster they really have no where else to go but away from oil.

It will be fine

That’s long past due. It never made sense to me why oil companies weren’t dumping all their money into R&D of alternative energy. They have all the money now and they could be locking up all the money in the future.

The notion that the Democratic Party has been commandeered by the radical left is completely absurd. Biden couldn’t be more middle-of-the-road if he tried, and he wiped the floor with the Sander’s campaign.

Do you think Biden will implement his own brand of policy or bow to the wishes of the hard left?

Bernie got smashed in the primaries because he’s nothing but a 78 year old @rickyb .

If Biden doesn’t do what the hard left wants he’ll be labeled racist Hitler and things will not go well for him. It’s already happening to city council members across the Country in areas in which the hard left is demanding police defunding, etc.

Within that context, also consider that Biden is barely alive. He not gonna be a guy who says no and resists hard left idiots.

Nancy is conservative. Most of the House Democratic caucus is moderate. Fear of the far left is nonsensical electoral politics with no basis in reality.

I think she’s so far left field that even dimocrats are embarrassed by her.
I disagree, she is just too vocal. The party can only be honest to a point on their vision without losing older voters.
Just my opinion, run it by @Box Ox.
He's a dim and I think he has some scruples.

At which point will older dims choose to stay home?
I know if my parents were still alive they would have no part of it.

Some older dimocrats still remain that are not full blown socialist/communists.
My opinion once again.
I may be wrong, they (DNC) will not allow the opportunity to prove me wrong however.

Why should someone who is so much different in ideologies (as far as democrats go) speak on his behalf? I don't have anything against her, but she would just go on a rant about her personal views.

Referring to thread title.
Here views are the parties goal.
She is just premature in vocalizing all of them.
There is an election to be won.

This is hardly a novel development (remember Jesse Jackson’s anti-war speech being removed from the televised potion of the 2004 DNC?).

The notion that the Democratic Party has been commandeered by the radical left is completely absurd. Biden couldn’t be more middle-of-the-road if he tried, and he wiped the floor with the Sander’s campaign.

I guess such inane theories may help the ratings for Fox News, but at the end of the day such theories are just not in accord with objective reality. The Democratic Party is establishment through-and-through, and always will be.
I'd call you an idiot if you really believed what you just dumped, but I won't.
I enjoy not being babysat by the moderators.

Maybe. Meanwhile the Republican Party is trying to re-elect it’s crazy wing. 😀
When you say things like that it confirms the republicans are on the right track, even against the will of rinos and the never trumpers.

Thanks for the confirmation. :thumbup1:

Why do Dimocrats deflect when they are rightfully criticized?
Reminds me of my second wife. Every time I bring a problem with her grown children to her attention, she immediately counters with “ Well YOUR child.........”
I guess you don't have the same problem with your fourth wife or you would have noted her as well Fred. :winkiss::thumbup1:

Just playing with you, just my silly humor. I don't want to be in your crosshairs.
